I hadn’t thought about the hardware until you mentioned it. The ghw (brass) shows-off the beauty of the croc, and the unique hardware. Phw would complement the croc’s color palette (in a minimalist monochromatic way), showing off the beautiful skin. Both hardware colors would work with this bag, yet each would achieve a different effect.
I’m a phw fan, so I’m biased.
I like both depending on the color of the bag. With H Etoupe i like GHW which contrasts well with the color and balances the sportiness of the white stitching.

For this I agree with @papertiger and you - PHW would be my pref.

Yes. I have complete faith is Ramesh’s expertise in hardware design and fabrication!
I  black hardware, yet have not heard of any that doesn’t chip over time.
I think the Diane closure in black is beyond stunning. I wonder if a black titanium-like substance can be/is used/mixed-in the metal, instead of using a surface glaze.
(Limited edition) Black hardware on a JD bag? Yes, please.

 Thank you!!

I used "buffalo butter" and a sponge to try and buff out the scratches, it did give a 50% improvement, it also rained today (figured) and I was expecting to see water spots, that did not happen!
On Saturday I went out with my husband, we got home and I was still in the car, on the phone. My husband opened the door for me (automatically) I wasn’t expecting it and my Diane fell hard on the payment, I was so upset! Luckily it landed on its back (not the hardware) but it was so scratched up! I was so sad because it looked like deep scratches (I wish I took a picture). I started rubbing the scratches with my fingers (after wiping the bag with a dry cloth) and they went away! I was shocked! The scratches do blend in. Also, went out to lunch that day and a waitress spilled a lot of water on it (she tripped while serving water), my husband looked at me worried and I was thinking “no big deal because it was just water” it dried really fast and didn’t leave a stain (it was a lot of water, not drops). I’ve had this bag for more than a year so it already has a nice patina, not sure if that protected the bag or not but it looks beautiful! No stains, no deep scuffs.

I wore mine today here are some pics
The scratches are next level, you literally cannot use this bag without scratching it. I’ll have to get used to this as I’m not used to having a “worn in” look on any luxury bag.View attachment 5770185View attachment 5770186View attachment 5770189
Wow!!! YOU wear the Diane perfectly:yes: your vibe and aesthetic is fabulous. After the first few scratches you won’t look back- it adds another layer of character to the bag and makes it even more beautiful.
PS looove your spiderweb ring

Thank you! The ring is Loree Rodkin, I am such a fan of her jewelry, I have a few of her pieces and I love them all!
