^LOL...that's my favorite too!!! I'm thinking the head of the setting should be in RG with the shank in WG.
I generally prefer my rings to have as few diamond accents as possible. I'd rather put the majority of my money into the center stone.
I love the simplicity of the setting. it will really show your spinel off. plus, like you said, all of the light that will be allowed into the stone. I have quite a few earrings in similar settings, & I really do like that double-prong look a lot. I can't wait to see what you decide to do![/QUOTE
I have a diamond cluster ring that I found in a parking lot when I was 6 and it has been sitting in my jewellery box ever since...I might send that ring to the jeweller with the spinel and do a few diamonds on the band just for a touch of sparkle. hmmm decisions decisions... the good thing is I have a week or so to decide before the spinel arrives![]()
no I think what I would do is take the diamonds out of the cluster ring and put them in the rg setting for the spinel^that's a great idea! can you use the same setting? will it accommodate your spinel?
^ah, I see...no I think what I would do is take the diamonds out of the cluster ring and put them in the rg setting for the spinel![]()
^do you mean with a black spinel? or with candice's pink one? I like black with black AND pink with black, so it's a win-win for me as an observerPaved hoops with blackdiamonds sound divine. I just had a nice big black onyx ring made with a rose gold setting and its is so cool. I wonder if a halo of paved black diamonds would work with the spinel.
^sorry bud...you gotta go RG!!!Dialv- that sounds really cool! the only thing i would be worried about is enclosing the spinel in metal, it's already a medium tone and i'm scared that halo-ing it would darken the colour....hmm...
I just got prices back for the settings, i'm looking at 90$ for the silver setting and 340 for 14k RG
This setting would look stunning in RG...love the simplicity and the double prongs. Your stone will be the center of attention.I really like the 3rd stellar setting! I know I dont want diamonds on this ring, all my other settings have pave and i want this one to be very clean lined, simple. I already pm'd you but here's the setting I was thinking of doing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/59754947/amethyst-u-prong-ring
its very open so it will let lots of light in from the bottom for maximum sparkle. picture it in rose gold...
