So I don't know about anyone else, but I have no issue with spending lots of $$$ on jewelry. Bags, sometimes. Clothes... nope. I am a cheap-o when it comes to clothes! Forever 21, thrift stores, and Target. I just feel that clothes get damaged more easily, so I hate spending any serious $$$ on clothes. Anyone else do this, or do you think i am nuts, lol!

I totally get you darkangel. I had kind of started down the shoe path at one point, but it is SO frustrating to kick a curb and scratch it up, or get street grime on an them, I couldn't deal. I still like nice bags, but for the price of maybe 2 nice bags, you can have a piece of jewelry that you will have FOREVER, not a couple seasons.

I have no problem spending on jewelry. it holds its value better than other accessories, plus...jewelry is my fav

oooh good i just PM'd you. I just bought this spinel I need setting ideas from everyone!

the bubbles are not as noticeable IRL im told. I should be receiving this stone in the next few weeks. I bought it with the inclusions because its hard to find spinel in a medium tone above 2 carats, and if you do its $$$!

so my thoughts on the setting, i was thinking rose gold double claw prongs.
any other ideas are appreciated!

just VMed you, but I'll post here too. I have an amethyst set in RG with pink sapphires. I think a setting like this would be lovely with your spinel (which is GORGEOUS btw)...

I believe the center stone is about 6ct. I'll keep looking for settings for you...I just love helping with jewelry!!!

^LOL...that's my favorite too!!! I'm thinking the head of the setting should be in RG with the shank in WG.

I generally prefer my rings to have as few diamond accents as possible. I'd rather put the majority of my money into the center stone.

I love the simplicity of the setting. it will really show your spinel off. plus, like you said, all of the light that will be allowed into the stone. I have quite a few earrings in similar settings, & I really do like that double-prong look a lot. I can't wait to see what you decide to do!
