Here's the othernsodenof the coin, told to me by a very good friend who owns 2 jewelry stores + two pawn shops(4 stores total); pawn shops provide a service by offering instant micro loans to people who would not be able to get a loan in any other way. It is a service and a valuable one. Most people, over 80 percent actually come and pick up their jewelry and the vaaaast number of pawn shoppers are repeat customers. Yes, they have high interest rates, but considering its a loan with no real contract to pay off the loan, the interest does need to be higher.Pretty rings. I would not buy from this sort of store.. It's like they profit from people's unfortunate circumstances. In would feel sad wearing something that someone had to pawn for money
