I'm having the worst time finding a Billy M in the color Nuts from the new season. The NY boutique doesn't have any more and must be having trouble getting an answer from Paris about another. I've googled and only came up with 4 places - all in France - who have them and I'm concerned about all the extra cost of credit card currency conversion fees, delivery, VAT, etc, in ordering directly from France.

Am I missing someplace in the U.S. that would carry Jerome Dreyfuss bags? (Most that do don't have the Billy in Nuts.)

Or is it probable that since they JUST came out (as far as I know), they just haven't become available widely yet and they're more likely to hit stores later this fall?

I ordered my Billy from Frenchtrotters in Paris, and I think they have the bag you want The customer service was great and it ended up costing much less then it was going to here. The price was lower to begin with, and they took of almost 20% as they don't charge the VAT to the US.

Good to know. Unfortunately they don't have the Alain I want. although that is better for my wallet!

Really?! That's awesome. Did you have to contact them beforehand, or did you just place the order? And there were no extra fees to get the bag through customs or anything? (I know I sound clueless...because I am. Never ordered anything from anywhere other than the U.K., and that was once, years ago, off ebay.:huh:)

I emailed from their contact page because I was unsure as well. Had a few back and forth emails with my questions, with someone named Marie, who was great. When it was time to order, I just did it through the site. No additional fees except a small transaction fee from my credit card. It came fairly quickly, I'm in NY. I'm not on my computer or would look up my exact receipt for you

This was within the last month and I'm so happy I did it this way.

Thank you so much!!! I think I'm going to jump on this instead of waiting to see if the NY boutique can get one from Paris.

Okay, I went ahead and ordered my Billy from French Trotters. It appears that I saved about $200, which is amazing! It also seems like they must have only had one because it's off the site now. :sweatdrop:

It was an ordeal because my credit card company blocked the transaction as "high risk" so I had to call them and get them to override that. I better LOOOOVE this bag after all this! :laugh:

Next time, call the credit card company first to say that you're about to make a purchase. If I'm going to make a high-end purchase,online, that's what I usually do.
