She thought she could just turn it off when she had children. I guess it wasn't as easy as she thought. I can only imagine the struggle within her head.
Really awful. Poor woman and her poor children.
Generally speaking, if you have that kind of career, it's because someone did something horrible to you when you were a child. Now that she's left to her own devices, no attention/validation, less money, etc., it must be really hard to face up to all the trauma that led up to this. I hope she gets the help she needs.

Unfortunately this is the reality for many pornstars. The industry can be extremely damaging and a lot of women (and men) come out of it with a very skewed self esteem and addiction issues.
I've always thought the industry needs to be much tougher regulated when it comes to assessing whether people are mentally well enough to start in the first place and then look after them during and after.
Having sex with multiple people with no real connection, having to perform certain acts that you don't necessarily feel comfortable with (even if consented) and being seen as a commodity for a long time will mess a person up.
There was a brilliant article somewhere written by retired pornstars talking about how damaging the industry can be mentally. I'm going to see if I can find it now actually.

They will never regulate, they will just use whoever is eager for money. A lot of people need quick cash to take care of themselves, sometimes their families, and jump at the chance for what making porn offers. Alot of people will say it doesn't pay off in the long run, but when you have nothing, that fast cash is all you think about.
I think her addiction to plastic surgery helped her addiction.
