I almost wonder if they had something to do with his aviation award. Like, maybe they wanted to spend some time in his proximity to see if he was worth forging a solo acquaintance with for future connections (BRF). Instead, he was odious. No casual last minute invites for just him after all.

I don't actually care if both of these people were rich or not. Even if they were in regular professions or even dirt poor, I probably still wouldn't like them. There's just something about their personalities that instinctively makes you go 'ick'. I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I doubt I'll ever meet either one.

Yeah he's clearly done brilliant things by developing Amazon into what it's become but it's been on the backs of so many people. Their low-level employees having horrific working conditions and wages so that they can hoard wealth is definitely ick.

And IMO they both look ridiculous but props to him for at least dating someone age appropriate. The bar is so low...

Not defending or accusing anyone, I do not know the personalities of any of these people. We never know what really goes on in their lives. We just see the snapshots. In the Bezos marriage, thankfully no one has said a negative word about the other or hurled accusations at the other so maybe all really is ok. TBF, Gotta give JeffB credit for having smarts. Electrical engineering is not an easy degree, it is one of the toughest of the engineering degrees. While I dislike that we have lost most bookstores, I do enjoy the ease of ordering from Amazon, so I’m glad we have it. They opened a huge world of books, etc. to those who possibly would never go to the bookstore. Kudos for that.

Poor choice of attire for this event and disrespectful to the guest of honor.
