I think the issue with Janet's looks make-up wise is that sometimes Janet's make-up artists over the years (including her current make-up artist now) overdid/overdo her make-up sometimes depending on the event she was doing in my opinion. Some of Janet's make-up artists have often contoured her cheeks which isn't necessary considering they have always been big/prominent (when she is thinner like she is now they are even more prominent). Janet's current make-up artist sometimes uses make-up to extend her eyebrows/uses make-up to remove the arch which along with the contour of her cheeks doesn't photograph well but I noticed looks better on video.
Janet has always looked better to me with no make-up or minimal/natural looking make-up. Which is more noticeable in pictures from over the years of Janet in her down time (with her family/friends, in the studio, or at rehearsals). Just a few examples:

I'm not sure but Janet's nose does often look different because of her make-up. So sometimes her nose is contoured which makes it look smaller (which I don't understand why she has had her make-up artists do that because her nose is already small just like I don't understand why she has had her make-up artists contour her already big cheeks). But when her make-up is minimal/natural looking her nose looks semi-decent/the same throughout the years and not super small/as if she is constantly having nose jobs like how it looks when her make-up is over done.
