Is Tiffany silver really worth it?

It is certainly a hard choice. I have silver, yellow gold, platinum and rose gold tiffany pieces. I really like silver for going to work, as I feel it is nice, adds to a work wardrobe well and doesn't make me feel like I'm being over the top. (Personal preference only and i still wear other metals to work sometimes). I feel some designs are better in certain metals, as in the colour of the metal adds more to the design.

An example is I have a rose gold ribbon diamond necklace from another jeweller. I saw it and I loved it. I saw it in yellow gold and didnt like it at all. White gold it was nice, but didnt catch my eye as much as the rose gold. So I bought the rose gold and every chance its on my neck haha. It isn't suitable as an everyday piece unfortunately.

I think its nice to have a range of different things - some expensive, some not. Not every occasion lends itself to having the most expensive piece you could afford at the time. Then you can bring out your more elaborate pieces when you want to feel extra bling, or extra dressy.

I think Tiffany Co pieces are more an investment the more you spend - i.e. platinum is better than YG or RG which in turn is better than silver. However, if you want to invest there is much more choice than jewellery, which would provide a better return and potentially less risk.

Enjoy your jewellery, and buy what you love. You won't go wrong if its something you just can't walk away from. As always, it is completely your choice and go with your heart/instinct/head which ever works for you :).

Wishing you the best xx

I love all metals. To be honest when it comes to designer jewelry, silver is more affordable and Tiffany as well as David Yurman do some lovely pieces in silver! I think silver is worth it. It only tarnishes when it isn't being worn, so if you were to rotate your jewelry choices on a regular basis i doubt you would see much tarnish. When I use the term tarnish, i mean the slight yellowing that happens when silver sits unworn. I happen to love the patina that silver achieves, which no other precious metal seems to do as well as silver does. It is inevitable that rings and bracelets will get a "loved" look moreso than a pendant/necklace. But I love that aged look :)

Hi there !
I have a pair of 10 mm bead earrings and I wouldn't say they are heavy. I bought them pre loved and they were a couple ears old but no definitely not heavy enough to droop my ears. If you attach pics I can try and help you out ! :)
hi, thank you for offering but I don't think you can authenticate based on the photos. I took the earrings into tiffany, asked a couple of questions about the backings and had them polished. I figured if they polished the jewelry then it's real - at least I hope that's the case :). thanks

I think that technically Tiffany silver isn't worth it to me, in the sense that if I had a set amount of money to spend on Tiffany pieces I would go straight for gold (or platinum, if yellow gold were not an option).

However, I aim to eventually own a "well-rounded" jewelry collection, and I consider a set of silver pieces (earrings, ring, necklace, and bracelet) to have a place in such a collection. I would feel less worried about possibly damaging silver jewelry, and I feel less self-conscious wearing less expensive-looking jewelry. I'm also extremely plain/casual in my dress. As much as I love gold, I feel odd if I wear more than 2 small pieces at a time (usually my grandma's wedding ring on a chain and an aquamarine ring I bought on Etsy and LOVE).

But even though it's expensive compared to other brands' silver jewelry, I want to purchase from Tiffany because the designs I like feel more timeless and less generic than what I can buy at, say, Kay Jewelers. And yes, the name "Tiffany" does help (even if no one around me knows that it's "high-end").

That all being said, I'm not considering a couple of collections because I've seen them everywhere and feel a bit tired of them, despite their beauty (like the open heart silver pieces).

I'm wondering if anyone can give some insight to Tiffany metals? I know for me Tiffany silver is worth it because of long history and craftsmanship. But do their other metals like rose gold and gold worth making purchases for? After all, Tiffany is known for their silvers..

Tiffany is known for the use of all metals; silver is the most popular due to price point. It is definately worth it to buy gold and platinum pieces at Tiffany. The pieces are extremely well made and are classic in design.

You're paying for the name, it's as simple as that. The important thing is that Tiffany's jewellery is incredibly pretty, and a lot of it is timeless so it's never going to go out of style. I wouldn't hesitate to treat myself to a piece of theirs....put it like that!
