Is there really a box shortage?

When I was at the mothership (Paris) a few months ago, the SAs said there is a severe shortage of box calf... would be about 1 year to see in stores because there were many SO to fill first.

I was just in Vegas and they had a black box Kelly with gold HW (32 cm) on the shelf, K stamp. It would have come home with me, but it was too big. Another lady picked it up shortly after I left.

I have just, this week, received my Box Kelly ordered in July 06!!!:yahoo:

SA told me something interesting yesterday...that the NY stores only order smaller bags in box because customers worry about scratches so use box for evening only. SA said should be no problem to get bigger box bags in Paris. Encouraging....but hard to know if true!
