Thank you for your lovely post! Very sweet of you!:hugs:Omg  you hit the nail on the head totally. I also want to use it when I go to Disneyland, universal or amusement parks too. But I’m concerned abt the vachetta on the bumbag hence thought the PM would be better for me, but now after your comments and not caring (which is so true and just enjoying the bag, no matter what, wet or not) made me think maybe I should get the mono bumbag and not care too?? :graucho::giggle::lol: Decisions decisions. I love your thinking though. Life is too short so we should enjoy life and all our bags without the worry! Sometimes easier said than done hehehe If I get the bumbag I have til the end of the month to get it as it’s gone then. Do you have any pics of your bumbag you can share? Did you spray the vachetta when you first got it or just use as it, and let it happen naturally? My hubby likes the mono bumbag more than the mwt, as it’s got that nice beige which brightens the bag up and when the vachetta patinas to a beautiful honey colour it’s more pretty. How long have you had your bumbag for?

The PM looks great on you and sounds perfect for what I want to use it for too! Now I’m so confused;):giggle::lol: They both sound good. Have you had any issues with your PM? Any glazing or cracking? I read and watched YouTube’s that mention that too so made me a bit iffy.

I’m so glad both bumbag and Métis are great for travel. If you could only choose one, which one would you get?

Thanks for the lovely and informative post. Makes me very excited (but so confused:lol::lol::lol:) on what to get for my travel bag. Makes me want to buy both, but I know I only need one.

Sorry for the long post! Thanks for the encouragement! :girlsigh::hugs::flowers::heart:
I have had the Bumbag since Jan 2020. I originally wanted mwt so I could get the black leather and not worry about the vachetta. I ended up deciding on the regular because of the price difference, the softer leather of the vachetta strap, and I prefer the overall look of the brown strap on that bag just like your husband. I only wanted mwt for the worry free bit of it, but I decided to just not worry. I did spray all of the vachetta with apple guard twice. I really don’t know if that helps or not though haha. I have some water marks. Maybe if hadn’t spayed it I’d have more? ‍♀ Also, for the price difference of the regular and mwt, I can eventually just have the vachetta replaced if it ever gets really bad.

Glazing- my first Métis was the reverse. After 6 months the glazing started to crack. My store took it back no problems and gave me store credit to do what I wished with. I got the mono Métis with the credit instead of the reverse. I loved the reverse but I found I had a hard time matching it with my outfits. I never regretted my decision to go mono instead. I have had zero issues with glazing since, but I don’t worry about it if I ever do because I know LV will either take it back or have it reglazed. I added the noir empreinte in January because I love the bag style so much. The empreinte is totally carefree and can even be worn to dressier evenings. There was a huge price increase in the Métis in the fall and I still went for the noir this January. Zero regrets

I would have very difficult time choosing only one! I reach for both often. It honestly just depends on my mood. I guess if I HAD to choose I would choose the Métis because it is more versatile as it can be dressed up or down. The bumbag is a very gorgeous but casual vibe. I would miss the versatility. That being said, for a theme park travel bag I’d choose the Bumbag. When I was in Paris we went to Disneyland Paris and I brought the Métis. It worked out just fine, but the bumbag is def a better Disneyland bag. It was much easier to hold/store the bumbag on rides because it’s smooshier. The Métis was awkward to hold on some rides due to the longer strap and the fact that you can’t ply with the shape to squeeze it either in the bag under the seat or between your legs so it doesn’t fall out haha. I was a little worried I’d loose it on tower of terror .

I hope I hit all of your questions!! I’ll get some photos in a bit. I’ll also take my bumbag out and show you the strap after a year of wear a lots of summer against my sweaty skin wear!

Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions. It’s is much appreciated and helps a lot. I will see if I can find a bumbag in store between now and when it’s discontinued and try it on in comparison with the Métis.

Yes please, whenever you have time pics if your bumbag would be great. And also next to your Métis too if possible for size comparisons. Thanks again for all your help! :hugs: :flowers::heart:

I thinks it‘s the ultimate bag for travel, it‘s lightweight, soo practical for sightseeing and goes with so many outfits, day and night, fits passport, phone, a TP 19…It does not fit a water bottle though, so while travelling I always take a keepall, NF or OTG with me to fit scarves, iPad, water bottles, duty free shopping etc. and carry my PM in it, like Beautycase!

I ordered mine specifially for travel from the World Tour edition  and actually I only use it for travel and never at home, I don‘t know why!

Hi Bumbles! So glad you are thinking about travel again, it’s been a long pandemic! I have the PM in mono, and love it. It is well-organized and the back zip pocket is perfect for phones or tickets etc. it’s two years old, no cracking or glazing issues and I prefer thinner shoulder straps than many -the wide ones fall off my shoulder with shoulder carry. That said, I wouldn’t travel with my pm. It wouldn’t fit a water bottle or umbrella. I tend to prefer a smaller airplane/walk around bag for most of my travels, and a larger tote like my NF if I plan to shop and carry extra items.

I thought I’d throw in a bag no one has mentioned :P My keepall XS sunset went to the Caribbean with me, and I loved it as my travel bag. It held passport, papers, CCH, mini pochette accessoires, phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max, so huge) and sunnies not in a case but a soft bag. I’m taller, so the men’s strap was adjusted perfectly to hit me just where I like it as a crossbody. It was securely in front of me, and it was comfortable to carry especially on the long travel days. Overall I just loved it and would travel again with it, especially to the beach. Canvas has become my go to especially earlier in the pandemic because I don’t worry I will ruin it. And getting through airports, security, carrying near the ocean, I just didn’t have to think about it, especially with no vachetta.

If I was traveling to New York or Paris (especially to shop:P) I might carry my H Bolide or Kelly (also like both because they can be locked and secured well) for those trips to H, Chanel, Dior or LV, and maybe an LV small bag like my XS for other walking around. Canvas is so carefree when traveling, but when I shop in nice boutiques I usually carry H. It could be my imagination, but it seems SA’s always notice my bag (usually they don’t say anything) and even though I wish it was different, sometimes it’s easier to get good service in some boutiques. Of course kindness and friendliness go a long way! And there are many lovely SA‘s that are helpful and fun no matter what we carry. Just personal preference.

And typically no matter my daily carry bag on travels I always carry a tote - either a NF or a large Le Pliage as a carry on etc. The Pliage I use has a shoulder strap and a zipper that makes it secure and it folds up small if you are not using it.

HTH and how fun to consider what you are doing for travel, hopefully soon. Glad you asked, it has been fun to think about and read everyone’s responses. So many of us have missed traveling in ”before” times. Here’s to easier travel and less global catastrophe soon. Humanity needs a break!! :hugs:

I completely agree with purselover724, both bags are great for traveling! It would depend, though, on what kind of traveling you have in mind. Like if you're staying at a resort and mainly need your bag for going to the restaurant etc., a more elegant bag would be a better choice. But if you're doing sightseeing, being out and about the whole day, bumbag and PM are perfect. I have them both, and use them both for these occasions. The PM might be a tad more versatile, as it more easily passes for a more formal bag. I have owned mine for around 4yrs now, no issues with glazing whatsoever. As for the vaccetta: I always treat any new vacetta with Colonil Leather Gel, impregnates and nourishes the leather perfectly.

I would also consider a Speedy 25 as a great travel option. With a broader strap it's very comfortabel, fits more than both PM or bumbag. Good luck deciding!!

Thanks @lovelyrita for sharing. I didn’t know you had it. Your PM looks so prettty  I think the fact that you only use it for travelling makes it’s extra special for when you do right?! Glad it’s a perfect bag. Makes me very excited to go and try it out myself as well.

Wow, what a thorough and detailed response.:hugs:Thank you so much drtr for taking the time to share your experiences. :heart:I love how people who have the PM have so many different things to share and different perspectives on what works and doesn’t work. It’s all great!

Yes, I totally miss travelling and I can’t wait til it’s a bit more settled and we can go in a safe and happy environment. The thing that started this all for me was the mwt bumbag. Prior to Covid I was always eyeing it for travelling and it was on my Wishlist, but as new collections came out it got pushed down the line. And of course I thought it would be a classic and always around so didn’t think much of it. I thought once Covid is better and I travel I will go and order it. I wanted the black trim on the bumbag for travel, but now that it’s discontinued I’ve considered the mono bumbag and was worried abt the vachetta, so I searched the website to see what else I could use, and next best and the PM came up. Hence, I thought I would ask all our lovely members what they thought.

It’s great to know yours is 2 yo and not cracking or glazing issues! And it fits so much and is so useful too which is amazing for a compact style bag. It packs a punch. Oh… the keepall xs! Yes no one has mentioned that but that’s also a good choice especially in the mono eclipse. You’re very right, and I remember your gorgeous pics you shared with us when you went to the Caribbean too. It is definitely a very useful, perfect size bag, and easy to use in these situations too! I must check it out too. All these suggestions and ideas make it so exciting in deciding what to do!:loveeyes::yahoo: I can’t wait to get into store to try them on, AND beat the next price increase hahaha:lol::lol:

Mind you, after the comments I’ve been swayed on the mono bumbag and vachetta so will see if I can get and try that on before it is discontinued at the end of the month, then I love the PM too thanks to everyone’s feedback and pics (just don’t know mono or reverse) and now after chatting to you I’m sold on the keepall xs too! So I’m more confused hahaha I want all 3! Omg:lol: I will be broke! LOL

And yes the pliage are great bags. I love them too. And they are great and easy to use for travel and can be folded which is perfect for storage.

Thanks so much for your comments. I love the detail and it’s much appreciated. Helps me a lot and makes me very excited on when I go to store and what I can get. Will keep you posted! Thanks for sharing! And cheers to Covid settling down and all of us back to normality of some sort and enjoying our holidays with our gorgeous bags!!:drinks::hugs::heart:

Thank you, that’s great to know. Is your bumbag the mono? Is the vachetta ok and not too much hassle? Does your bumbag have any issues with cracking or bending folding? I read some people experienced that as well and in the end just returned and got a credit. Ahh decisions, decisions …. So many exciting choices! And both great bags! The PM sounds like an amazing bag. I don’t know why I hadn’t noticed it before? I think I was too busy chasing other bags hahaha

Here are the two bags for comparison. I would say they hold the same amount. One is just a big hole and the other with two compartments. When I travel I usually take two bags. My NF gm that I use to catch everything and a smaller crossbody for dinners or special events. View attachment 5345453
Love the pic! Both are stunning and classic pieces to any collection.

I did research the bumbag and tried one, not this version, the men’s discovery, but it also had that flap over the zip. I didn’t like that, as it was so fussy to get in and out of and I know a few people that did have the cracks you mentioned. I returned that bum bag, and ended up with the Nigo sling I wear as a crossbody at my waist that is flat on my body when wearing, a great easy open main compartment and a zip pocket on back. I usually use that for dog walking or other errands, dk if I would travel with it. I know that’s not up for consideration, but more a comment on the bumbag. I also know many adore them! i know the clock is ticking. Good luck!

I found this so useful for your Keepall XS review for tropical travel     I did a beach footpath walk with my yellow keepall xs, and it was so fun! Though yours no doubt would be more carefree given the black leather and the darker canvas material! Thanks for your great review!
