Hello all! Hope you can all help me with your thoughts, comments and feedback on the pochette Métis.

I’m thinking of getting a crossbody bag for travelling, once Covid settles down. Don’t know how long that will be….but still want to think abt getting a bag for when travel opens up again.

I initially hard my heart set on the mwt bumbag, but that’s discontinued now and I feel the mono would be too much vachetta to worry abt so am thinking maybe the pochette Métis would be good with the canvas strap, 3 compartments inside and crossbody option.

What does Métis owners think? Does anyone also use theirs for holidays and travels as well, storing passports, sunnies, camera, paperwork, essentials, mini water bottle etc… for travel? Would you recommend it? And I’m gathering with the new models there are no more glazing, cracking issues as well? Is it a fairly light, easy to use and wear bag?

If you don’t recommend it, what would you suggest? Any help would be great.

Also, if you have the Métis, would you recommend it still after the latest price increase? Is it worth it or should do get something else?

Thanks for everyone’s comments in advance. Have a great weekend all!

Those are usually my travel companions:

But you know I’ve sold my reverse Métis and I haven’t been for the last 4 years anywhere :giggle:

but the Métis is definitely a beautiful and very practical bag and perfect for traveling. I always like to have my Neverfull also with me as a „handCarrier“ because I like to have some things with me that does not fit inside the Métis for example the Nintendo switch and some cosmetic items - my makeup - and more -
But overall it’s a perfect travel bag!

Thanks BC for the comments. That’s good to know. I’m gathering the Métis is not to heavy with filled up and not heavy on the shoulders when wearing it? And if you were to repurchase would you get mono or reverse again? Believe it or not I have never owned a Métis, but recently have seen lots of people with the mono and made me change my mind, plus the bumbag mwt is discon and the Métis looks so elegant and classy too! So am thinking of getting it for travels etc… so going to check it out and bite the bullet to get it (super pricey now, it’s $3750 aud) before the next price increase if it’s works for me. Did yours have any issue with glazing or cracking? What year did you get it? Thanks for sharing!

You’re welcome dear!
my PM cracked twice, I’ve bought it in 2017 and then it cracked after just 6 months very bad. I went to LV and first they exchanged the Flap, the flap looked like new but it had a strange stripe on the side at the glazin and I’ve didn’t saw it until I went home to inspect it. I just left it as it was because I didn’t wanted to go again to the LV Store. Then I went again to the store and showed it the Quality Control SA and she looked at it (that was in 2020) and it cracked again soooo bad, it looked horrible. It took just around 2 weeks and I did got a brand new one and my SA made sure it’s 100 perfect so I sold it
Don’t worry about this all because when it comes to canvas cracking LV is actually very helpful!

Nooo...I’d never use it for travel.the strap is very stiff (canvas version) n cuts into your shoulder. The bag will be heavy when filled up. Don’t even think of carrying a bottle or umbrella, it’s way too Small for that. Imo, no...just no... I only use mine on short outings. I don’t know what the hype is about this bag. I’ve owned it for years and I hardly choose to use it. Some other bag is always Chosen over it. Honestly, I kinda regretted it.

Yes, I agree abt the hype hence I have never gotten or thought abt the Métis. Thanks for your honest opinion. What would you use instead then, if you don’t mind me asking?

I have an empriente PM, but I never travel with it, nor do I see myself every doing so. I prefer a tote or larger speedy with a pochette for outings. For me, it's too clunky for travel. Mine does get heavy if I overpack it. A water bottle or umbrella would only fit if they were mini's. I do enjoy it for everyday wear though and don't regret buying it, but it has limitations for me.
