My grampa from New Brunswick called it "pop", my gramma from Calgary called it "pop", my immediate family from Ontario called it "pop", and now that I live in The Netherlands, I hear the Brtitsh expats calling it "fizzy drinks", but "coke" always seems to be generic here too. Interesting thread!

It's always been "pop" to me in Canada. For me "soda" means club soda which is something specific. (Also tonic being tonic)

i think "soda pop" is old school?

im not really sure but i think i read "soda pop" in super old archie comics that my late granny used to have. :weird:

My dad always said “Soda Pop” the rest of the family say Coke for any kind of soft drink. (Texas.)
In Washington state I’ve heard soft drink and pop.
