I actually think that suede is much better for spring/summer because it is a sensitive material. At the moment all my spring shoes are suede and was it not appropriate for the season the designers would not be making a lot of suede items. It all depends on the color and there is thicker suede and thinner suede. I have turquoise and nude suede shoes right now for the office. I also have grey suede shoes and though they are lighter in color the material is thicker so I wear those in the fall/winter. Color makes the difference in my opinion. I love suede for all seasons!

Depends on color IMO. (But also depends on factors like perspiration and sunscreen.)
I would wear nubuck in a light color except on very hot days.

I just can’t get myself to do it . I see a nubuck here and there that I like but then convince myself out of it due to climate. Probably better off !
I get it. My current favorite bag is a dark grey nubuck that I am taking out whenever I can b/c she's going back into the closet come spring.
I wouldn’t do it. It looks and feels heavy. Also it’s more likely to absorb sweat, oils, etc. from exposed skin (yours and other’s).
Laughing at myself.... literally the very next day after my initial comment I bought a taupe suede bag which will be used until it's hot out.
And shoe shopping the other day I noted a LOT of light colored suede sandals so at least for footwear it's a suede summer.
@HannaS1001 I think a nubuck bag can work in hot weather if the color feels summery. (My taupe bag won't be out but I have a happy yellow nubuck that will.
i know. But personally I love the “hand” and the chameleon nature. Texture is good!
So a light/pop color and _very_short nap are probably the key.
