It wouldn't bother me in the least to see someone *else* wearing suede in the summer, but I wouldn't do it myself. Not because of any perceived faux pas; I wouldn't wear it in spring, autumn, or winter, either. It's pretty, but I don't have what it takes to take proper care of suede.

I’m can’t even think why suede isn’t okay in spring summer so I’m a bit confused. I don’t have any suede bags but I’d totally wear them in summer if I did because it rains the rest of the time where I live (and in the summer too!).

To me suede is 100% a summer bag material, I actually would not use my suede/nubuck bags in the winter. I think it is an obvious choice to pair suede or nubuck with a pair of summer shorts and a light top, or a flowy dress. The material would actually, in my opinion, look totally misplaced with a wool coat or down jacket.

This may be an uncommon understanding but I actually think leather bags look far more ”wintery”, whilst suede falls into the summer category together with raffia and canvas, etc. :amuse:

I have a suede Gucci hobo bag which came out for spring/summer many years ago... I loved it so much I bought two (one for back up lol). I use it all year round just styled differently.

I agree. Suede especially in brown tan shade, adds, such a nice colour and textural contrast to summer outfits.

To be more specific, I asscociate suede with dry desert, cowboys, Native Americans, the hippies of the 60's and more recently with the boho style, which Chloe embodies and reproduces so well.

I can't wear suede most of the year due to the weather. It rains and snows most of the year. Thus SS Is the time when I can and will wear suede.
