Yay that it sold for the right price! That's interesting about mercari. I haven't used either of these sites-just etsy and ebay. Do you have to make accounts for all of them just to buy? I thought I would need to which is why I haven't ventured over (along with some of the stories, lol!).
Yes, you do have to have an account for them. Though there are a lot of people that just have accounts so they can buy (and they don't ever sell). I only had the sites you had for a long while, but then this bag I was stalking a while back was on Mercari, so I finally made an account, and it ended up being a great thing. Posh I started a little earlier for a similar reason, but I have bad experiences on there and then some good mixed in. I have noticed the site has been a lot better lately--they have cleaned up a lot of the scam listings they had for a long while. So that makes me feel a little better about it. Still not my fave, but it will do when it has a bag I can't find elsewhere.

Thank you! I might be missing out, lol. I will consider peeking over there next time I'm hunting for something in case there are better options.

The cabinets got delivered, not installed though. I'm breathing a sigh of relief because they look nice. I think I should have put the microwave a couple inches lower but it isn't too bad. We got the painters to refinish all the doors so now everything in this part of the house will look new, except the washer, dryer, refrigerator, furniture, shower and toilet. We replaced the toilet last year.

Hi everyone, this might not be the best thread to post this in - please let me know if another is better.
It's time to clear some things from my house - purses, clothes, household items, books/cookbooks, sewing items/fabric, table & bed linens/quilts, dolls and much more! Many are vintage items but some are newer items too. Do any of you sell these types of things and if so on what platform(s) and why did you select to sell there?
Thanks for any and all input!

There are different platforms that are better for different things. A lot of your stuff might be best on etsy. It costs 20 cents to list but the selling fees are less than every place else. For heavier, cheap things, I like Poshmark. You don't make as much money because the fees are 20% but they have a flat rate shipping label - $7.45 for up to 5 pounds. The cost to ship books is often more than the value of the book, which makes it hard to sell these things on ebay or someplace where you'd have to pay for the shipping.

The ebay forum has discussions about all the selling platforms: https://forum.purseblog.com/forums/ebay-forum.56/

Thanks for the info. I'll check both of the links!

I know some have good luck with posh here, and that is great. But for me personally I have been spoiled by Mercari--when there are offers for my items they are so much better, and items priced low move quickly. On Posh, the offers are literally ridiculous, it is funny. I broke my tote bag rule so am trying to sell another one, and have priced it very low to sell, and someone offered half off that price. That is a big no! Then I countered very reasonably, they countered back for 5 more dollars over their half off figure. Nope again...

Some people make you wonder... It's like there is no logic to their responses. Did she really think you would go for $5 more? SMH.

Glad you were able to sell the bag at list price! And didn't have to wait a long time either.

I know, right? I don't understand the countering to a counter offer anyway. If I make an offer, and the seller counters, I either accept or decline. I don't see it as a game of going back and forth. And I thought the same--I countered to an amount that was the lowest I would go...her going 5 more made no sense. I already had the bag at half off what most everyone else sells it for.

I was totally shocked and surprised to sell it at my list price, even though it was a great price.

Wanted to share another tea rose combo. This link bag didn’t come with the hang tag. I decided to go with a melon/ navy vibe as I had a navy strap and a navy hangtag, and those colors are considered complimentary. While I was waiting for the larger tea rose to come I had what was in the first pic, and now have my new tea rose to complete the look…..

Love this melon/navy combo :). I would love to get a link item and tearose item at some point. Enjoy :)
