Yes, I do agree that the ecloths that I have that are similar work well for that. I did end up cancelling my norwex order (if the consultant will do it and not pretend it shipped already, lol), because the cloths I have are fine, and I really don't need to go all in on their products. But I can use the cloths I have here and there, and it is nice to have some variety.
I was using cloths for all of my cleaning anyway, so my usage of paper towels is still low. I think that is why I have had a hard time being as into their products as some that are super hyped about it. I was just talking to someone online and she was saying, I still use the cloth diapers from when my son was young to clean--I said I do too! (those things that can be used as burp cloths, etc--I have had mine for years and they are still going strong).
I will you use old cut up t-shirts, old socks (great for putting on your hand for cleaning ceiling fan blades). I do have a microfiber cloth I use for glass and mirrors (no lint) and I recently bought a 2 pack of microfiber cloths for dusting off some of my metal furniture (loves to hold onto dust! Boo), along with Pledge. Was hoping it would help prolong it getting dusty, that black metal can be a beast for collecting dust. So far it has been better.
I haven't tried Norwex and wondered about them. Microfiber cloths are my favorite for cleaning and wiping up messes, but I go through a lot of them in a day; so I need to have a little stack of them. I have a couple of samples of the "as seen on TV" kind, but most are basic ones from amazon. There is a little bit of difference, but they all work really well. I have a mix of colors; so different ones get used in the kitchen/bath. I wash them with regular towels and usually don't have a problem with lint. I do use a light cleaning spray since I mainly use them for wiping surfaces, like counters. I spray the surface with cleaner and then wipe with the dry cloth. I only wet the microfiber for dusting. They are great when liquids spill! I also have a few bar cloths and the burp cloth diapers that are great too. We have napkins from etsy made of that wonderful diaper fabric.
DH bought a big pack of generic ones at home deopt. They are great for wiping surfaces. I use them mostly for dusting - we get so much dust here. I think I will start using them to clean countertops as DS is using far too many paper towels for this. The problem is you really need to squeeze the water out or they leave streaks. I don't like streaks.
