Hi Ladies, hope you are all doing well. We're good at home, going through a tiny heat wave and it's so uncomfortable. But I'm hiding out at home, sitting downstairs where it's quite cool until late afternoon. The garden is very dry and we had a lightning storm last night.

Nothing new on the bag front except I bought one of those clear large signature cosmetic bags from the FOS. It's a nice, heavy plastic with a little handle on the zipper. I bought it because we were away for a few days and I'd wished for something to hold all my sunscreen products. So I ordered it and it just came today. I like it a lot. Makes me tempted to get the matching tote bag! :P Only if it really goes on sale.

It's quite roomy and I can fit a lot in here. I'll have to lay the bottles down but just wanted to give you an idea.

Very cute! BUT, Gateway drug! Gateway drug! :panic:

They keep your cold water cold (for 24 hrs) and hot water hot (for 12 hours). Once, I did a test of how cold it kept my water — it did a very good job of keeping it cold although near the end of the 24 hr, it was not quite as cold but cold enough . My Mom inherited one of mine since she likes her water warm — she loves it. Like ML said, they can be heavy depending on the size. They sure come in very pretty designs with new designs coming out all the time (I attached a pic of the one I really like but don’t own). And other cons — not dishwasher safe, can’t be refrigerated and most bottles come with a top that require you to screw/unscrew it although sports caps are available for purchase. I don’t know how they compare to other brands out there like Contigo or HydroFlask

No dishwasher and can’t refrigerate, and heavy? Ugh. I use Tervis and actually like to see the liquid level so I prefer non opaque ones. I hear Yeti is good too, but I don’t own any. These are pretty, but don’t think they work for me. Thanks for the info though.

Sure, don’t blame you for sticking with the brand that works for you. I have never heard of S’well either till TPF (famous enabling site ). I got my first one at Costco (they no longer sell them) for < 1/2 retail.

I know what you mean — I used to think it’s strange when someone pays a $5 purchase with a credit card. In the past, I only used a credit card for purchases greater than $20-30.

My DH finds it so convenient to use ApplePay on his watch. He wants me to set it up on my watch/phone but I am not one to warm up quickly to technology .

I don't think it is going to affect me much. I was already using credit for nearly everything before covid. I only carry cash for those times when they don't take credit. Sometimes I'll use cash if the item I'm getting is cheap. I feel guilty using cash when I'm only spending $5. We used to have a business and we know the store's percentage they pay to the bank is based on their average ticket size, so those small items end up pushing their ticket size down, increasing their rates.

I already moved away from having one wallet for everything. Now I have a card case that has no cash, a coin purse, and a small wallet for store credit cards, cash and coupons.

I'm wondering how things will change when we start using our phones to pay for everything. Then we won't need wallets at all.

Yeah, good idea to check them out although they are much heavier than regular plastic bottles. Have you heard of S’ip by S’well? They sell them at Target and elsewhere. They are like the budget version of S’well. Some think they are virtually the same as S’well except in name and price — others think there’s a slight difference in quality (S’ip’s smaller/lighter bottles may mean thinner insulation so may not keep water as hot/cold as long as the heavier S’well). I have 1 S’ip by S’well (Clearance at Target for $7.50) that I bought after I bought my S’well bottles. I use my S’ip fairly often due to its size, sports cap, and small carry handle but I haven’t done the 24 hr coldness test on it. I got all my bottles for less than retail (like from Amazon, Costco, Starbucks, Target) because just like Coach, I don’t want to pay full price .

I didn't know this about these bottles. I knew people on the forum loved them but I didn't know why. Now I have to think if I need something like this. When we go on a trip, even for just a day, we bring an ice chest in the car with water bottles.

I haven’t used ApplePay on my watch yet. Only my phone when buying things on my phone. Haven’t used it in a store yet.

That's pretty cute! At least you can "see" if you forgot something. We've been stormy too, unsettled weather.

My DH used to tease me about using cash for everything — I used to be annoyed with places that didn’t accept cash. It took a pandemic to finally get me to stop using cash. I haven’t seen the thread about wallet changes to accommodate this new trend. I use compact wallets anyways so luckily, it’s not a problem for me (meaning I don’t have an excuse to buy new wallets ).

LOL I had a mix mind you debit was/is main preference, gets you in/out quicker especially with littles in tow.

I've starting using my phone and loaded most of my reward cards onto it. Makes it easier, plus i have a list app on my phone so i have the thing with me anyways. Less to carry! the carts at the one local grocery, i mean i completely appreciate they sterilize them but they ooze the stuff it's all over the handles and just yuck.. my phone is easy to wipe off.
