It is annoying but on the other hand, it would be annoying if people were cavalier about spreading the disease. When my kids were young, people didn't think there was anything wrong with taking their kids out when they had chicken pox because they assumed it was a mild disease to kids. Well, I was pregnant when I got chicken pox. It was scary there for awhile. The hospital was going to put me in isolation. It turned out okay because I had a mild case and it was cleared up before the baby was born but if it hadn't cleared up, he would have had complications.

DH is high risk since he has heart disease, and I'm high risk because I have asthma, so in our case, I feel we can't be cautious enough. However, I don't get why people are going crazy over toilet paper.

I think the craze over the toilet paper is because people worry that if they have a total lockdown here like they did in the original city in China, people can’t leave their house for a couple of months. Unlikely our govt will do that for fear of economics consequences. But definitely some are going overboard. I agree that the elderly and people with medical conditions (even diabetes) are at higher risk. Also, everything is heightened if you actually live in an area with confirmed cases :(.

I can't really understand the toilet paper situation....its getting like that here in NZ like Aussie. We make the paper here in NZ...we are not going to run out.

Maybe another reason is that you stock up now to avoid going to the store later (for fear of running into people who have it but don’t know they have it yet). Who knows? Lol.

I figure that by the time we run out of toilet paper, 6 to 9 months from now, it will all be on sale because no one else will need any.

Nice you have a good supply at home. I have a supply but probably not that much. I use tons of it — like a couple squares to kill a spider, wipe off some dust, wipe the toothpaste off the tube, etc.

If anything I hope it will make more people wash their hands regularly lol

I’m more worried for my BFs Dad who is late 60s and a smoker, and also my Grandmother who is almost 90 and recently diagnosed with lung cancer (due to smoking  ).
Yes I forgot to add that it is important to be careful not to spread it for those at high risk, as that definitely is an issue.

Yes I totally agree that the high risk category is a different case. I just wish those not in that category would not panic. But also be sensible.

They brought their kids out to be around others when they had the chicken pox?!?? Wth! Geeez.

I’m concerned about those that are immunocompromised. People should wash their hands and follow proper hygiene. That really should go w/o saying. Even stay home from work when sick, or keeping your children home from school when sick. Unfortunately, for a multitude of reasons, that can/won’t always happen. And the TP thing??? Well I think it is because people feel like if they are quarantined in their house they don’t want to run out. Right? No idea. I sure hope there is some available at the store when I actually need it for my daily life. Hey it makes me feel better for my natural tendency to stock up on BBW soap and anti-bac on their sales! Lolol

As of now, TP is available online at Target, Walmart, Amazon, lol. I think going forward I should have a 6-9 month supply like WE. But I will wait for a sale to stock up. I probably have 2 months worth? — but like I said, I use a lot of it for this and that.

It's almost kitten season here so I went out to stock up on the typical soap, sanitizer, bleach, cleaners, gloves, tp, paper towels, e.t.c and found almost nothing!!! I went to 8 different places and now have a tiny supply going. Shelves were either empty or at a 2 item limit. I'm pretty sure my state doesn't even have any known cases as of yet. I'm really hoping this panic ends soon, I wasn't expecting this situation so soon since I live in the middle of nowhere lol.

Whyyyyyyyyy not flush the toilet WTF is wrong with people lol

Apparently, once the post it reminder was gone, they reverted to their old behavior :(. Or we should try to look at it from a more forgiving perspective — we live in a drought-ish state so maybe they are conserving water, lol.

I buy a couple of those humongous packages. Each package lasts us more than 6 months. We go through tissues faster. I have boxes everywhere in the house. DH has allergies and goes through a lot of it.
