Eh I wouldn’t wear them with a dress. But if the dress is super long they might not be noticed anyway. Depends on formal it is. If it is a matter of not going because you dont have the right shoes then wear them. People wont be paying attention. They will be too busy grieving.

^That was speaking on fashion only. Who really cares. Lol. I went to a service once where the half the people looked like they were headed to the beach. And NO it was not beach themed, it was very awkward. So my point is wear the Sketchers. Lol. And a FAB purse! Now that’s important. Hehe

Thanks :). I know it would look ugly, lol, but guess I have to do it. I thought about wearing black pants and blazer/jacket which would then go better with the Skechers but I don’t have any black pants except for black jeans (a definite No!). So dress and Skechers it is.

I agree with this. One therapist I was talking to a long while back said something I will always remember. If you have something going on causing some anxiety--it is normal for our very active, neurological minds to need to do a "threat assessment". He basically said it would be very hard for us not to consider the threat based on how our active minds are intended to work-- also part of that fight or flight thing.

So basically he said it is a good idea to do what he calls a threat assessment, and consider what the threat is, what you can do about it to ease your mind (and what part you can control about it, etc). In other words, it is very normal to do this. I shared this with someone, and they really liked this concept as it makes us all feel better to know it is normal to consider those things that make us anxious a threat--regardless of how big or small it might be.
Oh this is good!

Too lazy to multiquote — thanks ML, C, TO, E, A, WE and everyone else who helped me with my funeral footwear question. I appreciate it. Think it will be a 2-day event so definitely a good call to be comfortable on both days

Also big thanks to everyone for listening to my virus panic concerns and offering sound advice. Sorry for being so freaky and lame — think I lost all common sense (what little I have left) when I heard about the new cases without obvious links and saw the empty store shelves. Bless my DH who agreed to buying those 2 extra TP packs last night and even went to get a shopping cart for them. Alexa — thanks for sharing the threat assessment concept. I don’t remember anything what mine said to me before, lol, (5+ years ago) — except she annoyed me with a couple comments about my purses (I was just starting to get into purses).

EDIT: Need to start obsessing over purses again for my own sake
IM, thank you for sharing with us. Sometimes it helps both you and us when we can talk about things that are concerning us. I grew up with a "strong" family, and no one voiced anxieties etc. I felt like I needed to be tough too. As an adult I discovered that most (all?) of us worry about something, and it's normal. I'm glad more people are open about it these days.

This week I've noticed some important things I use regularly are out of stock in the stores. So maybe I should stock up on a few when I find them!

I agree. I am trying to be open minded about gold for the bags that have it. Not my favorite at all, but I try to look at it as variety and how it gives a different look to a bag. I am getting better about it. For example, I really wish the navy Cassie had a different hardware, but I think the gold will work and I will get used to it.
The great thing about that dark navy is, to me, all the hardware choices look great with it. The brighter ones stand out and the darker ones blend more, but they all go so well.

I think your black sneakers will be fine! Better to be comfortable so you can focus on the important things.

TBH I’ve never been one to worry about sicknesses but this one does have me concerned. Maybe that’s me getting older? Or maybe just a side effect of my worry about the state of our ... Never-mind no political talk lol

I even looked up where to buy face masks, that is so not like me! But then I saw on the news face masks really aren’t the best option at preventing infection but are more helpful for those that are sick or if they’re a healthcare worker. So I’m just being extra vigilant about hand washing and not touching my face. Which is incredibly hard with my Invisalign.

I had the flu in December which was the first time I was sick in years! I think it was about 7 years. And then 2 weeks ago I came down with a minor cold. After not being sick for so long it was strange to be sick twice so close together. I think it’s because of my Invisalign since I’m constantly taking the trays in and out and I have to chew on these little rubber things to make sure they are seated correctly. Oy! So it is stressing me out a bit because I can’t really avoid putting my hands in my mouth The #1 thing you are supposed to avoid doing lol I feel ya.
That's good you figured out the culprit. If you bring sterile/disposable gloves to remove the Invisalign when you're away from home, maybe that will help keep the germs away.

Thank you! I'm so very pleased
(of course, now, having been bit by the bug, there are more things I would like...)

My outlet sold out of them really fast at first release day at the 70% off price (I couldn't make it in that day), and coach's outlet website is sold out too now, unfortunately. But it's okay! I would have really like the small dumbo wristlet but there will be other things. Now I just need to NOT buy the dumbo coin purse in its stead. The wristlet I wanted in part because I could use it. The coin purse not so much!
Oh yes, there is that... :lol:now you are hooked! Welcome to the club. :)

OK thanks so much — I appreciate your advice . I just didn’t want to come across badly on such a solemn occasion.

Changing topic — stopped by Walmart tonight since we are out of lemonade. Check out the empty paper towel and TP aisles. No liquid soap left as well — just bar soaps. Yikes

Seeing this is very disconcerting at the very least. It makes you wonder if you have enough at home yourself. I made a quick Costco run today just to pick up some medication, and I overheard someone say that they would probably sell out of water before closing. The pharmacist also mentioned that they had sold out of alcohol. The area with antibacterial soap didn't have much left. The lines weren't long, but almost everyone was buying water. We don't even have a single case in our state. :confused1:

Yes, it's really strange. I'm used to this happening here anytime there's unusual weather (even mildly possible snow flurries) so maybe there are just very prepared people, and I'm behind!

Haha there ya go’. Your tootsies will be happier after. :)

On another thread, a person who works in disease control said that washing hands is better than using hand sanitizer. Also, that hand sanitizer dry out your skin and if your skin cracks, it leaves you more vulnerable.

My daughter works in Sacramento. I think we are a little safer here, being in a small town without lots of travelers, although the world ag show was here just before Valentine's.

DH is a little worried too. He is especially worried about his drugs since they are made in China. If they run out of the drugs he needs to stay alive, I don't know what we will do. The insurance won't let us get more than 90 days at a time.

We bought some more bottled water but we didn't get any extra food. I've been stocking up on food for most of our marriage and I've had to throw away so much that expired. I don't want to end up wasting. We have quite a bit of food in the house that would last a long time.

Not being able to get your DH's meds would be major. I pray it does not come to that. We have a ton of food at home, too. Well before this, I've told DH we can probably eat for three weeks without buying a thing. We would miss the fresh stuff, but we certainly won't starve. We have too much. He still wants to buy more, though. I just hope I don't need to throw it away later. I feel so bad when I throw away food.
