Here is my latest purchase. I didn't know they made these until I saw one in a thrift store. That one was missing some parts so I left it behind and ordered a new one. I've always carried a tiny swiss army knife, mostly for the scissors. This is a card that has even more functions and it fits in my card case. I'm most excited about the flashlight, magnifier, and pen.
This is a great little item! I’m saving it under “Christmas 2020.” It’ll be a good stocking stuffer for DS and DD. Thanks for sharing, @whateve !

Here they are. I had odered the hearts one on fos at a great price, but it got canceled. Lo and behold, there were several at my the outlet and on clearance! I got an even better deal.
These are so cute! I like the Aristocats. It’s one of my favourite Disney movies. Those little hearts seem familiar to me. Was there a Beatles album that had stylized printing similar to this?

I think it would be fine. Years ago I never would have worn sneakers with dresses, but now it is commonplace.

OK thanks for your advice on this :).

I know it’s ridiculous to stockpile some basics but I figure I can always use TPs later even if this situation ends. I saw a couple 9-roll TP packs left on the bottom shelf so I picked them up tonight, lol. I usually like to buy the bigger, more economical size.

Off topic venting please, I have been consumed by the C-virus panic the last couple of days since we are in the same metro area as a few confirmed cases. yikes. The stores are all out of any sanitizer, alcohol wipes, and even most soaps now . Amazon is mostly out too. I got some extra water and canned food etc. I want to buy some hand sanitizer from Bath Body works since they are the only store with any left (tonight at least). DH thinks I am crazy and that good old fashioned hand washing should suffice. I hate to waste money but want to be prepared.
I understand your concern and I feel some anxiety about it as well. There are a few cases of COVID19 in my province but our health officials are trying to reassure everybody. We’re all trying at school to be really diligent about the hand washing and not touching our faces or sharing food. I’ve been basically asking the children every time they come back from the washroom if they washed their hands and they are all washing their hands before eating. We do a lot of crafts so somebody is always washing up.

I haven’t bought any hand sanitizer for home as I prefer soap and water but I realize it’s good to have some in the car just in case. I haven’t seen any major buying of supplies in my neighbourhood grocery stores. I think we’re all just trying to be calm and take it a day at a time.

Thanks for your reply. I heard the same about drugs — wishing your DH well with his meds. It is frustrating how insurance works . I ended up ordering a couple bottles of sanitizer and some travel size ones — think it doesn’t hurt to have some around (even though I never bought/use any sanitizer before). I know that hand washing is the best solution but sometimes it’s not do-able (like for my Dad who has limited mobility). We already have some canned food for our emergency supply (but I must have bought them a few years back because they are all near their expiration dates. I know canned food lasts forever, lol, but I felt better buying some fresh cans). Hopefully, this situation will be under control soon-ish — I don’t remember feeling semi-panicky when the last virus, SARS, hit but I was much younger and naive then, lol.
I think it’s good you’ve done some preparation because that always helps to settle ourselves when faced with uncertainty. It’s better than sitting and fretting which I have a tendency to do. I also remember not feeling quite as worried with SARS but this one is different because it has spread so quickly.

IM, I'm sorry you're in such a stressful situation. When there are multiple stressors, I know it can get overwhelming. I think it's a good idea to do things that will ease your mind, especially if you have room to stock up on things you'll use either way before they expire. Don't forget to have a few fun treats too. :) I believe keeping hands clean and away from our faces goes a long way, and you've got that. Stress isn't good for you; so it's good you're focusing on the aspects you control, and try not to think about the other parts too much. :hugs:

Very neat! I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. I've been curious about them, but I saw a poor quality one that was one solid piece of metal. It didn't have the pull out parts. I hope this works great for you! I have a tiny Swiss Army knife too. It's pink! :)

Ok “fashion” advice please. I just found out I need to go to a funeral in a couple of days. I haven’t been to one in almost 20 years. I have about 5 black dresses — I am wearing the only one that doesn’t have shiny sequins or made of velvet, lol. The problem is that my problematic feet have been hurting so badly the last 4-6 weeks (even in athletic shoes). I don’t think I can wear my normal Grannie black flats. Would it look tacky/disrespectful if I wear my black Skechers slip on sports shoes? Thanks.
I would wear them. It's more important to be able to walk around there. I have those in black too by the way, if they're the same ones. My husband said he was surprised I didn't get the turquoise ones. I would have, but I just have one and the black ones go with everything...even skirts. ;) Disclaimer, I am not a fashion advisor, just concerned for your feet and comfort.
