Thank you! I am very excited to see it all! We saw glaciers while on a very special trip we took to Chile and Argentina 14 years ago. DH says we'll make this one just as special. I am finally letting myself get excited about this trip.

If you or anyone is familiar with Seattle and Vancouver, I welcome suggestions for hotels and must see places.

I went to Vancouver maybe 15 years ago? It was very beautiful. I think I stayed at the Westin or one of the hotels near Stanley Park. It was my favorite part of the city, very large park with trails. The park is surrounded on almost all sides by the bay. You can rent bicycles to ride around. Definitely recommend checking it out on bike as there is so much! I think you can also drive around as well but it was so long ago I don’t remember haha

I like “The Descendants” too since I am a fan of George Clooney . A sweet movie,

Yep, it is my 25th as well, later this month. I keep jokingly ask DH if we can make it till then, lol. I need to hold off on everything (including any vacation) for awhile to help my folks (I will likely not be home much starting soon ),

We love Maui the best (like you, if I remember correctly). Off the top of my head, my two favorite restaurants are Lahaina Grill and Leoda’s Kitchen. And Sunday brunch at the Grand Wailea. Let me think about it some more and send you a pm if I remember others. So glad to hear the kids will be joining you for the first part. Have a great time,

Oh, we often go to two islands. The only downside is packing up everything for the second leg of the trip (especially if I buy a new bag during the first leg, lol)
IM, I hope the temporary new routine will go smoothly for you. It is hard to make fun plans when loved ones need you and you're concerned about their health. I hope you two will have fun dreaming of your 25th Anniversary celebration and making plans for the future. Sometimes it helps a lot to have something to dream about and look forward to while times are tough and you have to wait. :hugs: Happy 25th Anniversary! I hope you and your husband can mini-celebrate until later!

Wow that's crazy! You must be exhausted. Even with less to do, the next three weeks are hard. It's never easy to keep little ones occupied. That alone is physically demanding. Hang in the there. You're almost done. :drinks:

We're going on a cruise to Alaska! This is a bucket list check for me. It is quite expensive, though. DH says we need to look at it as a once in a lifetime experience and just enjoy. :coolio:
Your Alaska cruise sounds exciting! Have fun!

I'm relaxing now, I already took a nap before dinner! What a busy day! But we are making the sweetest Father's Day projects so it's all worth it.

I would love to go on a cruise to Alaska! You are going to have so much fun! My teaching partner went last summer and she said it was amazing. I think your DH is being very wise. We need to do these special travel things while we have our health. Have a wonderful time! I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of photos. Now, what bags are you thinking of taking?

I'm going to Hawaii this summer, first to Honolulu, then flying over to Maui. It's our 25th wedding anniversary so we're planning a big trip. I haven't been to Honolulu since 1982 so I think I'm in for a big surprise as to how much it has changed! I'm going to take a LeSportSac tote for the beach and a couple of Coach coated canvas bags with me, one satchel and one shoulder bag. They travel well and I don't mind touching them if I've got sunscreen on my hands because they can easily be wiped down. I usually leave my good bags (Coach Leather, LV) at home.
Happy almost 25th Anniversary! Hawaii sounds awesome!

Alexa, I love your Dooney bag! Now this is such a pretty blue and perfect for spring/summer. I only have one Dooney bag and the quality is fabulous. My Dooney is red on the inside, too.

I’m glad you enjoyed your pedicure. I love them and one of the “treatments” I do regularly. It always make me feel good.

My family loves to paddle board but canoeing sounds pretty relaxing! Have fun!

Query: what kind of bags does everybody use for outdoor recreation?
Depends on what the recreation is? I bought a small lightweight nylon Pacsafe crossbody when I went to Europe and it worked awesome. When I go on my beach vaca I’m going to take this for walks on the beach and if I go biking or trail walking.

Oh that’s awesome!!! I would LOVE to
go one!! I’ve known people that have gone there on cruises and loved it.

Oh awesome!!! I went to Hawaii when I had a friend living over there and loved it!!

I'm curious too! It all depends how much we're bringing. I love to get away without bringing much, but for long outings with food and water bottles, I bring a tote or someone carries a backpack.

@musiclover It depends for me as well. For light outdoor activities, going to festivals, light trail walking in a park I love my mini Coach backpack! So great to be handsfree. I’m thinking about purchasing one of the MFF medium backpacks as that would fit a water bottle better.

Thanks for your sweet words TO. I appreciate it. We will go out to a nice dinner (including DD, lol, although she couldn’t care less if we didn’t include her). Guess we can have a better, more ideal celebration in the future when things settled down. I was looking forward to a special celebration (maybe even a wow renewal, lol) before all this (being too self centered I guess, lol) but unexpected things happened so just got to roll with the punches. Anyways, thanks again for your good advice :)

I don’t think it’s self centered to wish you could go away and do something special! I hope you can do something eventually, maybe you can both start thinking about what you would like to do

I haven’t watched all of the Oceans 11 (12, etc) movies. I have seen a little here and there when they are on tv. I remember watching the all female version recently.

Thanks ML for the well wishes . Time flies when married with kids, lol.

I think regarding two island trips, we have done Maui/Oahu more than Maui/Big Island (twice) and Maui/Kauai (1 time). Kauai is really pretty but the island is really small and has less dining/shopping for us. We mainly like to eat well, shop and laid by the pool (no hiking or swimming in the ocean, lol). You would probably love Kauai since you and your family enjoy outdoor activities. On Maui, I have been to both LV shops (but only bought from Wailea). An SA at the Whaler Village said their store has more of the classics whereas Wailea has more runway/special/new pieces (not sure if still true). Oahu has 2 standalone LVs plus a smaller one at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (my recollection from last summer). The LV at the Ala Moana Mall is the bigger one (2 stories). You will have a great time—I am very excited for you.
You'd like Oceans 11. I think it's the best one because it's quite fun and you get to really see Vegas and the casinos.

I love finding out about the Hawaiian islands. You've really travelled the islands extensively which is wonderful.

Gosh, that’s a lot of LV stores! I don’t think the fam is going to allow me to get to all of them! I’ll have to prioritize, sadly. I remember the Wailea store has the Hawaii limited edition pieces, but I didn’t notice anything runway but perhaps because I’m more of a “classic LV” shopper I don’t notice those pieces as much or look for them. I think I will try to get to the Whalers Village shop (easier with just me and DH) to look for my Clemence wallet. I’ve looked in four stores now but cannot find one made in France or made is Spain. So a Hawaii store is my last hope.
