We had carpet in our kitchen in the last house. We installed hardwood and it was so much nicer looking and easier to clean!
This house we have a huge deck built by the previous owner using untreated indoor wood. Part of the deck rotted and half my left leg fell in a hole the other day. I'm really sad that we can't save the deck. My boys spend all day there and I don't have to worry usually when they are playing there. But now it's a safety hazard. We can't replace it this year. The only thing we can do is get rid of it. I doubt it will hold up if we get a heavy snowfall. It's bound to collapse. [emoji852]️
Oh my! So glad you didn't get seriously hurt! Best to get rid of it before winter. Hopefully your boys won't get upset :(

Whatever do you mean?!? [emoji6] haha. Yeah we’ve had some swimmers here lately. I took a little wade and bought a wristlet that I’ve already used several times. A well used purchase, costing me only a few bucks (after gift card, sale, etc) taboot. I’ve really slowed down my purchases. Mostly just selling lately. I would like to get a new work tote and a small crossbody in a red or cobalt color. Those two things are on list - have a few I’m eyeing. Waiting for the right price. I’ve resisted many super deal temptations, which is good. In the past I would have just snagged them up. Now I think more before purchasing, less impulse. And at some point probably a small LV. [emoji3].

And wow, 6?!? What type of bags are those, if you don’t mind sharing.

Sorry to all, I left my comment and disappeared. I actually had to work at work, what a bummer! :-) Yes, there have been quite a few swimmers lately. Glad to see you are showing restraint overall .... My 6 bags are 2 mercers and 4 mini prestons. If you count the 3 tiny bags I switch into for a day here and there, I have 9, but honestly they are more like small leather goods that just help me not buy more bags.

They give me a bit of a change to satisfy the need for change and then I like my regular bags without needing to buy more. Honestly, knowing how easy it is to be unsatisfied no matter how many bags you have--(the urge to buy new, and then the new bag isn't new anymore, so you buy another and so on, and then get rid of some you decide you don't need...that whole game got old for me). So now if I buy a bag it really is new and fun, as it is rare. And it has to fit my functionality rules.

This thread gets overly "shoppy" at times, so it seemed like a good time to say...isn't this a ban thread to some degree? :-) thanks for all of the nice replies!

You ordered black cherry rogue 25? If so, we just might be twins.....maybe....through no fault of my own lol
DH needs to join this ban, although I'm not really complaining
I know your husband loves to buy you bags, but do you ever find it would be nice to do something different since you have so many bags? Or maybe you do want to collect indefinitely, which is completely your choice. I just always figured you popped in here occasionally because part of you wants to cut back. I just think it is easy to keep buying if someone says...here you go, or sure, buy another bag, but in the end the question remains the same...how many bags does a person really need or want, and when is it just a habit or addiction, so to speak? Just some food for thought.

My husband doesn't go out and buy me bags or tell me to get them, and my budget is much lower than yours, but he also didn't mind that I bought them as we both contribute our money to the household and he isn't the type to tell me what to buy or not. But I personally got to a point where I felt uncomfortable and knew there were other things more important to me. So I think at some point it helps when it is about you...regardless of if someone is allowing the habit or not.

LOL! i find it goes in waves.. dead quiet.. chirp. then BAM! the debit card is out. The last bag i bought was my post one, preloved... a few months ago, i did acquire something last night, even though i said i was done with bags i had a bit of a rethought after checking out that backpack irl. (adorable but way to small to be useful for me)

When i get a chance i'll show you guys... it's incredibly basic and may be nothing more than a catch all left in the car.. i need to sell more bags though, i have some i know 100% i am not using again.. but overall i don't own to many... (pretty sure around a dozen)
I think you get a pass...you used the same bag for many months! :-) And you are also trying to find something that doesn't hurt you, so that takes a few tries to get it right.

Thanks for the needed reminder A! It is easy to get tempted with sales and reveals etc. I can’t believe you are down to 6 — that is fantastic. In the last couple of months, I have sold some stuff, bought that one infamous Miguel Kors bag, and am saving up for a special bag. But I could really downsize some more once I figure out what to cut. But not increasing my “number” of bags for sure. Thanks again. A gentle reminder is always appreciated .
Sounds like you are on the right track!

Thanks for this! Yes, I am back on my ban and really have no desire for another bag. I'm going to list a couple and get back to work on closets. Congratulations on 6! Very impressive.
It is a good feeling when you lack the desire for another bag....it feels less stressful, in a way. Good luck on the closets. I always get rid of stuff anyway, but my son's room is a constant challenge. We have it so organized but it always feels tight for space. I keep reworking it almost every other week, and it gets better and better. I try to remind myself that I should be glad he has the toys he has because there will come a point where he will be too grown up and only want electronics, etc :-(. I have to admit, I love the challenge of figuring out how to organize his room and closet, lol.

I haven't been on this thread long enough to see past behavior trends. However, I think it's wise to shop and take advantage of 30 or 40% off if you get the chance to and have been wanting the bags for awhile. Specially 1941 bags. [emoji6] I have never ever paid full MSRP till I met these bags. There has never been a bag that blew me away to cave like that. That's how smitten I am by these bags. It is no longer a need to buy a bag for the purpose of needing a bag. I have bags that fill those needs. But to turn down an opportunity to own something that is so exquisitely beautiful and of great quality and craftsmanship is really really hard to resist. For this reason, I'll gladly take my punishment of being surrounded by the non-hots to come. [emoji85]

There is nothing wrong with wanting to buy bags inherently. That is what purseforum about... but... this thread is a ban thread at heart so just saying buy away but what ban goal brought you to this thread? I think although many of us buy we try to remind each other of why we began posting here in the first place.

Oh I know the answer to that one. I was buying too many bags too often to rehab and not working on them. I needed to quit buying those $20 bags! Lol! None of those are for me to keep. I bought them for the whole purpose of rehabbing them and I was addicted to the quick and easy buying process. I buy a lot less now and am being pickier in choosing if I want to rehab it next.... You know a month or two from now! Lol!
