We had carpet in our kitchen in the last house. We installed hardwood and it was so much nicer looking and easier to clean! What makes it even crazier is that we bought the house from the owner of one of the largest home builders in our area. He employs a design team, how did a whole team of people think "Carpet under kid's sinks? What a great idea!" I'm constantly battling soap/water/toothpaste disasters since my 3 kids are 6 and under.
This house we have a huge deck built by the previous owner using untreated indoor wood. Part of the deck rotted and half my left leg fell in a hole the other day. I'm really sad that we can't save the deck. My boys spend all day there and I don't have to worry usually when they are playing there. But now it's a safety hazard. We can't replace it this year. The only thing we can do is get rid of it. I doubt it will hold up if we get a heavy snowfall. It's bound to collapse. [emoji852]️
