I totally get it. I have a Betta fish now too. Not a whole lot of interactions there. Lol. But if something happens to him and I cry, I am getting pet rocks next. Haha! [emoji23]
That's why I'm happy my only pet now is a tortoise, who has a life expectancy of over 100 years. If nothing goes wrong, he will outlive me. Another benefit is that we can go on vacation and he is just fine without us.

I posted the above before I read all these sweet (and sad pet) posts. Isn't it amazing and awesome how much joy pets bring to our lives? Even the memories of them make us smile thru the tears. I'm convinced that any woman with teenagers needs a dog cause a dog is always happy to see you and thinks you are brilliant (even when your kids don't)
Whopping topic change: This afternoon I ended up exchanging that black flower embroidered Lexy I was obsessing over for this one. (My daughter gave the embroidered one a thumbs down...She's 27 and always right about that stuff for me. (Not in an obnoxious way. She just knows my style really well) This is going to be a good choice. It's extremely light and I think I'll enjoy the material. Thanks for all your comments and encouragement as I dithered back and forth on my decision. I'm having so much fun here! View attachment 3854418

LMAO! I sort of imagines LT’s sheets would be leopard as soon as she said animal fur. That and a bear skin rug. For Stick obviously... [emoji23]

I may have just taken my leopard polar fleece sheets off my bed for my velvet ones....:p

I am not kidding. I love leopard!!

And there may be a shag carpet in my living room. :coolio:

I think I am uncomfortable with this much knowledge of myself out there on TPF. How dare you guys know me so well.

I think sometimes we can romanticize farming but there's actually so many possible problems and things that could go wrong. I have much admirable for you and what you do.

Poor ducks. They must have been so scared.

I laughed at the comment about your son. That's the iGeneration. I have two of them myself.

Don't get me wrong, many wonderful things occur.. new babies don't get old but sadly as the saying goes 'you have livestock, you have deadstock' plus it's a 24/7 "job" any weather, anytime.. very physical, which upside i'm in overall great shape but down is i have ailments from repeated physical labor.

yeah, ducks were over the edge, it's sad.. i have always had the odd issue, but the last few years have been terrible, i've had a fox, mink and now a coyote take chickens, ducks and most horribly two of my sheep... it's all been a bit overwhelming.

The kids and their snapchats, instagram... their whole lives are recorded, guess i am just to private for all that.
