Graff does have some fabulously expensive jewelry. But they are also introducing lines in the $10 to $30K range that are just beautiful. Look up Graff Butterfly and you will see some lovely eye candy.

Here’s some pictures of the bracelet in RG and WG. I did not buy it because I’m on Ban Island, but it’s definitely on my radar.

Graff is truly amazing... I have the diamond necklace in round 1 carat each stones... over 100 carats total... I thought I would wear this for life... Not my style anymore, but know that It will fetch a pretty penny if my 9 year old son has anything to do with it... I am hoping he will add to my collection and pass it down to the next generation. I am a man, and I think my son won't share the same appreciation, love and feel of luxury jewelry. He will probably will give it to the first girl he falls in love with, she will break his heart and keep the jewelry.... ugh !

Wow, I bet that necklace is spectacular!!!

A little off topic, but speaking of a spectacular Graff piece. Here is a 30 plus carat pale yellow diamond that was part of a Graff event I attended recently. It was a cool $2.2 million.

Those aren’t my nails. And the ring is not mine either. I just took the picture for kicks and giggles because it was just so spectacular. It was in Saks in Virginia.

DH would put me six feet under if I bought such a thing.

Figure out your style and honor it. If you put big bucks into something, use the daylights out of it, no hoarding for alleged special occasions. Being alive is the special occasion.

The convention of building a collection of basic diamond styles plus Cartier bracelet/etc. is only one way to do good jewelry. It's not universal, and it's not suitable to anyone and everyone. What looks do you gravitate toward? Is there a part of the world you're in love with, and what's its fine jewelry? You could be drawn to artist jewelers who make one-of-a-kind things with gemstones or gem-grade minerals, you could develop a significant jade collection (once you invest in your own education on jade, which has a tricky learning curve), etc.

So...the easy way is to buy what people say is essential, but it isn't unless it's essential for you.

I bought a bunch of jewelry between 30 and 35. At 44 now I am still using all these pieces on a daily basis.
1. Diamond solitaire earrings (bezel set)
2. Small diamond hoops
3. Solitaire diamond necklace(bezel set)
4. Diamond bubble tennis bracelet
5. Pearl necklace
6. Pearl drop earrings with single diamond
7. Tahitian pearl drop earrings/pendant
8. Sapphire ring with diamond side stones
9. Ruby ring with diamond side stones.

Perhaps it’s not “her” money but their money, since a marriage is a partnership, and they’re choosing to earmark that money for things more important than jewelry—philanthropy, homes, children’s education, etcetera? Or perhaps (gasp!) they don’t have 2 million lying around, which isn’t exactly a character flaw unless one is an elitist bore?

View attachment 4291161 Here’s the reason I’m on Ban Island — the ruby ring. I found it at a really good price. Normally, this ring would be way out of my price range. But it was hidden away at Saks at a location that just does not move pieces like this. So it was really old and priced that way. I had it transferred to my Saks so that my favorite SA would get the commission.

The proportions are just perfect, set in platinum and 18K. It’s not so big that I can’t wear it every day, but it has presence. The color, has a hint of purple and pink — my favorite hue for a ruby. And the stone has lots of life.

This is an example of buying something that makes your heart sing.
Sorry OT but I had to comment................
If your ruby has a hint of purple it's probably a Burmese Pigeon Blood red ruby...considered a vivid ruby. Best of the best! Love the setting, let's the ruby shine. What a score...I'm jealous!!!

Yeah, of course, I understand if you don't have the money you can't buy it ;)
Maybe my upbringing is different but my parents and sibling, normally pay into an account share the costs based on fair share. What you have left is for your own spending/savings etc :)
