Your collection is amazing! I have a question for you. I just picked up my So Black Jumbo from the boutique yesterday and in my excitement I did not thoroughly examine the chain. Now that I am the leather in the chain makes it incredibly stiff, to the point where some of the links are offset, it doesn't move smoothly through the grommets like my other chains, and the point where the ends of the leather are sewn off and meet is really obvious, rough and actually pokes into my shoulder a bit. Is yours the same way and it should just soften up? Or do you think I may have gotten a faulty chain? I can add pictures once I get home if that would help. I am in love with the look and feel of the bag and leather, and I know it would be my every day work horse bag, but the chain is making me have second thoughts!

I recently purchased the medium so black, my chain isn't as smooth as my other classics as well, I doubt it's a faulty chain, may just need to use her and hopefully the chain will glide smoothly with wear. This handbag is too gorgeous to have second thoughts, hopefully you can overcome the feeling.

Thank you for the input! I hope that it will get more smooth with time. I agree it really is too perfect to be anything but ecstatic that it is in my collection.

I have had Chanel bags before where the links seemed offset too- I just played with them and they fell into place and all was good from then on. It just seemed like a few links were a little twisted, maybe it happens in the shipping or production process. The ends of the leather on yours sounds normal too, even without photos. The leather ends do look obvious and is that way on all their classic bags. That question pops up a lot here, but the way the leather ends meet on the chain is completely normal. If it pokes your shoulder, you can adjust the chain so that the part of the chain where the leather meets is not resting against your shoulder. Hope this is helpful and feel free to ask any more questions. Enjoy your gorgeous new bag:smile:

thank you for getting back to me! I'll fiddle with it more tonight and see how it goes. I'm sure it's just going to be a bit of a learning curve with the different kind of leather.

i had to come back and drool over your so black collection. this is seriously a so black lover's dream!!!! ahhh so stunning!!!:loveeyes::loveeyes: i am still trying to find that chevron jumbo in the resale market that doesn't cost an arm and leg! :wtf:

Thank you:smile: That chevron one does have some crazy prices in the resale market. I have to say that after act 2, my so black collection has almost doubled:oh:. I had absolutely no will power and couldn't resist many of the pieces. Chanel really got it right with these new so black releases, especially the so black boy:heart:

Have you ever have a thought (at all) that your so black collection looks almost the same? Black hardware and the bag is black too?
I have to say that they all look TDF! And they're so hard to get too

Nope. To me they all are unique and look different...the differences are more noticeable irl. Different leather, hardware (even though it is black there are differences), patterns. In my opinion, you can never have too many black bags:smile: I actually have a very colorful bag collection as a whole, the so blacks are just a portion of it and I have fun with it

Can you please post a close up picture of your so black chevron? I'm debating if I should buy the so black or go with the traditional classic flap in lambskin & gold hardware.
"If only" @katiebal 's ✨beyond breathtaking✨ so-black chevron Reissue (especially) and/or chevron classic flap could be found on the retail market, so many of us would go ✨wild✨!! It has been quite some time since those pieces were available at the retail level. Now we must search and hunt-down the "pre-loved" market and at exceptionally marked-up prices.

Dear Ms. @katiebal, your so-black collection is ❤️absolutely inspirational❤️!! Would be ecstatic to see a photo of your updated so-black "family" including your current 17S + previous seasons' so-black SLGs included. Oh the eye-candy, for sure!

Please know how much I appreciated your detailed explanation regarding the 17S so-black jumbo! I was "one of those" who passed on my pre-order after seeing only photos and reading criticical reviews of the crumpled calfskin leather on TPF. I went back and tracked down that beauty the hard-way. Without the assistance provided by this thread posted to TPF, I would still be kicking myself today. Many, many thanks for your information & inspiration. :flowers: ❤️
