and SM made a video about how difficult it is to replicate guilloché (calling out stylehard for wearing a fake). how is it that now its possible that someone switched out one motif and it perfectly blended 🤯
That callout was so hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
To me the way SB was analyzing the fake theory sounds a little too conspiracy for me. But is it possible someone returned a fake and The influencer ended up buying it? Does VCA sell returns?

yes, they do sell the returns. VCA accepts returns (for store credit of course) of unworn items within 30 days of purchase.

I would imagine that there are certain protocols in place to carefully review these items that have left the store, in order to ensure that its the same piece. I’m sure they have ways to test the metal, weight, markings, etc. and this information may even be kept internally at the time the creation was made. maybe someone who has more info can chime in.

Outside of the actual issue itself, which has many more nuances than we will ever know, I feel like the main reason this was put on social media and why people have outrageous reactions to it in their own videos is just because they want engagement for views. Social media is a cesspool in general; I cannot go on any site without seeing extremely inflammatory posts, many I know for sure are untrue or misrepresented, and then one realizes that it usually is not even about convincing viewers about the actual topic in the post or video, instead they are just trying to get comments to boost them in the algorithm…

Since when VCA start polishing guilloche? Last I spoke with my SA I was still told that they can't be polished but can now be replaced. I just find it odd that the SA offered to send it out to be polished and it made it through the workshop's authentication process (allegedly?) If I were that girl Monica I would double check the serial number on the COA, all the invoices and service request papers just to be sure, something's telling me that the SA and SM know something and doing something that we don't know. Also they appeared quite defensive and reluctant to help in the footage, over a tarnished guilloche and they tried to gaslight her from not sending it back out to the workshop? Hope she can get someone from corporate to look into this matter, this is unacceptable and nothing she's been told by the SA and SM make any sense.

Well, Monica posted an update. It is 18k, not gold plated.

Something must have unfortunately landed on that area of the motif. She doesn’t remove it. It could even be camel spit - she was hanging out in Dubai - I have no idea. The point is, she’s an influencer. For her to post is what she and other influencers do. I think the VCA manager should have changed that one motif for free. Stores do treat influencers differently. Now the brand name is slightly tarnished.

For a regular customer, I would have just replaced that motif. Wasn’t she offered $160 or something to replace it? It’s not worth all that trouble of getting the gold tested. But to @nicole0612’s point, I think that part is to build more views for her TikTok account - and it worked bec even I had a look.

I see oxidized VCA gold pieces especially the hammered gold ones in pictures in tpf. Even the ones posting them don’t notice until they put the piece next to new ones. Oxidation is normal.

Looks like some influencers are jumping on the bandwagon. I hadn’t heard about Monica, and now other so-called "influencers" and "experts" are joining the frenzy just to chase views. It’s a sad state of affairs, really.

There are already four or five topics in the VCA house about tarnishing, oxidising, and similar issues - it’s clearly gaining traction for the wrong reasons.

Im probably in the minority here but if your wearing it everyday and never removing sometimes things happen. It’s not possible to take care of jewelry really well that you’re never removing. Our love bracelets are testament to that. Spend the $160 bucks replace the motif and be done with it. She definitely drawing this out for the algorithm. Her experience isn’t going to turn off serious VCA clients. The SA was out of line but I find that level of CS is dependent on individual not the entire brand.
