She didn’t really deserve a refund tbh but VCA handled it correctly. She had for 6 months not 2 like she initially claimed. Also she wore 24/7 and I definitely think product got on it.
so she just posted in the other thread (
Post in thread 'Defective Van cleef?'
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/defective-van-cleef.1074975/post-36290731) saying the damage occurred when she has it for two months — with screenshots. Personally, I think she’s telling the truth and VCA just dropped the ball on this one.

I do find it interesting that the VCA seems to have quoted me by saying “something must have unfortunately landed on that motif” in their Instagram account. It’s like the VCA corp heads read tpf forum. lol
Yes!!! I am sure that Van Cleef & Arpels/Richemont's dedicated communications and public relations team rushes to TPF to craft their responses and press releases! "What did Chareen say???"

Who needs crisis management when you have tpf working overtime for free? I do believe something has gotten on that motif though since the rest seem fine. We'll never know what really happened to it.

why the explanation now? she won. she got a refund, millions of views across multiple platforms, and a mob of non-van cleef consumers to harass the company and its employees.

regardless of the rude manager, VCA offered her a solution which is to replace the one motif for $160, and she still decided to blast the entire thing on social media because she no longer wanted the bracelet and really wanted her money back. if she would have taken the option of having the bracelet replaced, this would at least show that she truly loves this piece that shes worn for two months straight. but accepting the refund just shows that was the end game.

Waaait - it’s only 160 to replace a motif? I thought that’s what the polish cost 😩🤣 I would have just paid and been done with it but I suppose it’s the principle

Usually the service fee alone is $180 USD, the guilloche motif would addition cost around $300-$500 range. I suspect they just waived the motif fee if she wanted to get it replaced if they're only charging her $180.

you are correct. 180 was for the polishing and she was told that they can give her a quote for the motif replacement.

Wow! Glad they offered her her money back. Something tells me a non influencer in this situation would not have been offered a refund though, which means the rest of us are screwed 😂
Not true - as an ordinary customer, I was sensitive (i.e. really didn't love it) about a particular motif on my new bracelet (which I bought sight unseen). Vendome gave me many options - and also offered a full refund option. I didn't take any of the options in the end ... So, you don't need to create a ruckus. Some influencers are loud and off-putting. I didn't think Monica behaved like that - she was outraged and upset by the gaslighting. I probably would be too ... not a great way to handle that situation.

lol. Honestly, I’m not taking any credit here. It’s just common sense. 😆 Heck, I already claimed in some other thread that I rarely comment.

Monica, I hope you enjoyed wearing the bracelet for the duration you had. Not a lot of us can wear out a guilloche (you know it isn’t shiny after wear and tear) and get a full refund in return! 😢 But be aware, Cartier is under the same company as VCA. They are a conglomerate. So at the end of the day, that nice refund from VCA you have will all go back to Richemont - the parent company. Now isn’t that silly?

Also, I really hope your VCA journey is over. I saw you wore some fake onyx sweet bracelet in your earlier posts back in 2022. But given that your husband is a vascular surgeon, I’m sure you will venture into the VCA world once again like Haileyoo in Instagram who is another influencer.

But girl, congrats on the 5 million views on TikTok. Nice payday for you. You had your cake, and ate it too all around.

It’s really a shame that the VCA manager gaslighted her. Monica successfully tarnished the brand - no pun intended. I did enjoy reading the comments on VCA’s Instagram account. VCA is doing some major damage control by deleting comments - good luck with that one bec they keep pouring in. lol. Her followers are quite vicious. Power of the influencer.
