Influencers and Hermes

she is just envious because she knows she´ll never become the big fashion blogger she wished she could be and live the life she wishes she could live…
Anyone who doesn't agree with her is a hater and a ragamuffin\
Has she said these things in her Hermes-related social media? Or are these just personal attacks (projections?)...

Why don't you go ask a brain surgeon if they like being put in the same category as an Internal Medicine doc and report back to us.

Yes it has turned into a dumpster fire because some readers cannot differentiate between an influencer vs. wealthy..not about being worthy. Styled by S hubby is felon..is she worthy of Hermès?!

If influencers just stuck to the subject there would be no issue...yet they feel the need market themselves as wanna be socialites.
There are plenty of true luxury influencers who stick to the content.
There is no such thing as “worthy of Hermès”, there is certainly no ethical or moral standard. Some people may be buying with the proceeds of crime and we will never know. A criminal slumlord’s wife buys at Hermès, it is not surprising. What is unexplainable is that some people still follow her.

Well, considering that I've had the privilege to work with - and personally know - both a brain surgeon, general surgeon, plastic surgeon, gyn surgeon...as well as physicians working in primary care, I can safely say that all they care about is doing what's BEST for the patient, and really don't care about this hierarchical B.S. that people outside of the medical field go on about. Yes, some specialties make more money than others - with primary care historically making less - but that absolutely does NOT mean that the lower paying specialties are "low" or "lesser than" the others. To think this way is incredibly elitist, and I'll say it again, highly offensive to all of the medical and healthcare professionals who work their tails off, night and day. They're all on the same team with a common goal: to take care of the patient, and to first do no harm. And the ones that are in it for just the money? They burn out pretty quickly. But anyway, thank you for providing insight into your, interesting view of the world.

To go back on topic: Quite a few members members of this forum can absolutely tell this difference between and influencer and wealthy clients...but here's the thing: Not every Hermes client HAS to be wealthy. Many save up to buy that special bag (or 2 or 3), be it brand new or vintage/gently used, and they are just as worthy to be clients and lovers of the brand. And as far as Styled by S goes .... feel free to use the search button in this thread, and you'll see that this particular influencer has RIGHTLY been racked over the coals.

Finally, considering how incensed you've seemed to have become over a few influencers' actions, their comings and goings...perhaps stop following those individuals? Stop watching their videos? Or here's a thought: since the concern is about educated people about the differences between wealthy individuals vs fake influencers, start an educational YT channel about the difference, instead taking over an entire thread with vent posts.

Peace and blessings :flowers: (from a healthcare professional/child of a primary care physician)

Edit to add: Does anyone have any cool new Hermes YouTubers/IG influencers they'd like to share with the group (regardless of their background)? I'm getting into scarves lately - would love to see more scarf styling videos.

Trying to get back on topic. I don’t follow or watch most of these influencers anymore. Back in the day I felt like they were somewhat relatable but now they just seem so out there and out of touch.

Most of them are just incredibly annoying. The loud squeals or misleading clickbait video titles or very annoying surprised face video shots are like nails on chalkboard.

Most of them add little or no informative value and primarily seem to post to flex. Some of the brands they promote imo are really sad looking run of the mill generic department store type jewelries. And I find it very hard to believe these items are worn on a regular basis or at all along with 20k luxury brand bangles.

There are several influencers I used to follow because they’d post comparisons or great bag reviews. Those videos are far and few between.

Several of these influencers I used to follow have obviously made it big. They have bought nice homes and seem to be spending extravagant amounts of money decorating but they all kind of look the same. No really inspiring designs or bold colors or interesting furnishings. All neutral tones. Blah boring.

These influencers most often seem to lack authenticity. What I mean is that many seem very affected in demeanor and voice. Several have changed compared to their early days. But can you blame them? They have hundreds of thousands of minions or lemmings or whatever you want to call them posting thousands of comments in adoration. It’s weird. They get that constant validation so of course they’re perfect and can do no wrong.

There were some I followed recently for a little while that seemed honest and straightforward and insightful but even they too have gotten annoying. Part of it may be they became interested in making content for the cash flow. They started using clickbait titles.

These days if I need information on how something looks or comparisons or functionality or how well it holds up, I just come on here to tpf. I find the members here to provide the most insightful and helpful info.

If anyone follows influencers who don’t promote other brands that seem antithetical to their content and provide quality content and don’t squeal or say they love everything they got from a sponsored brand please share.

I too used to follow all of these influencers from the beginning and now they add no real info..mainly just promoting themselves or ads. Become very fake and as you said clickbait. I think readers who are brand new to Hermès and enjoy living in a bubble will continue to watch them..however I personally perfer influencers that provide actual informational content like Hermès Bonbon (just straight up info, no b.s.) and def TPF is where I get the most information as well.

May i suggest @Cranleyplace. I don’t think she's new, but she has a lot of videos with scarf reviews and knot tutorials.

I'm also active on a luxury travel & hotel forum and there are many comments there in a similar vein:

"There's no way such and such was able to afford to stay at this boutique hotel"
"They probably just saved up enough for 1 night and went there to take photos"
"They probably stayed in the cheapest room during the low season"
"This gives xyz brand a bad name. I don't want to vacation with influencers."

Something about the word "influencer" brings out the superiority complex in folks

EGW has stated this on her IG stories and etc ! No personal attacks or projections

I recently discovered Yvette Sojourner.

Just proved my point...One doesn't need to be wealthy to afford Hermès.

Seeing lots of unnecessary drama stemming from this thread!
If you have an issue please keep it off the forum and PM the member or mod instead, complaining off topic or ranting about other threads is causing more drama .
The spirit of this thread isn't to drag others, some of the influencers are or could be your fellow members here, so be kind. Always be respectful and keep your posts not topic and clean.
Finally, feel free to scroll by this thread, it's not required reading

If we have to keep reminding, then we'll simply close the thread. BE KIND IN EVERY POST ABOUT EVERYONE, including influencers you may not like and STAY ON TOPIC.
