Influencers and Hermes

Is this a “secret” we got to learn for free? It was on the T’s reels suggesting that home, jewelry and watches are the best categories to spend on if you want to speed up a bag offer (because these categories are less popular). But seems like they’re not…

I blocked this so-called "influencer" so I can never see her cringe-worthy posts. It's frustrating when influencers hide the truth about how they achieved their success. It's important to remember that everyone's journey is unique and what works for one person may not work for another. Focus on your own goals and be realistic about what it takes to achieve them. Don't fall for quick-fix solutions or unrealistic expectations.

Righhttt...so it just happens all the "influencers" that visited the former SA purchased fine jewelry first and then magically received quota bags after (for the record its all in their posts and was in stories). Yes there are certainly "unicorn" situations especially at FSH like buying a belt and getting offered a quota..but they are far and few between and certainly it was way earlier to obtain a quota bag prior to the pandemic in ALL boutiques.

As discussed before "influencers" and especially the SAs are not transparent at all!

Who will get the offer first.. someone who purchased a shoe vs. fine jewellery customer?! Hermès is a business just like anyother store..spend $, quota will show up, and remember you are competing with other clients who shop at your home store NOT other boutiques. Hence the prespend ratio varies. At FSH certainly the rules are different but even with leather appointments a quota is not guaranteed.

Good luck to all in the Hermès Casino!

Hermes casino is right. It’s like bag roulette

** correction from the previous post: meant to say "it was Easier (not earlier) to get a quota prior to the pandemic.**

Additionally, a former SA from London, now turned influencer, even mentioned on her stories which categories generate higher percentage for quota bags. So I am not sure why this other former FJ SA is stating categories do not matter. SMH!

but now it’s so loud. Like LV and Gucci loud. I still love the brand but it no longer sits on a pedestal for me. It’s lost its magic. I feel like it’s really sold itself out with the influencers. Plus the resellers have really ruined it for me.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

exactly!!

Sometimes I wonder:do they KNOW what they do to their loyal clientele?

We all know the House always wins! Lol!

With their 28% increase over the last quarter, it makes me quite aware that in the scheme of things, they don’t need people like me as customers.

Sure, the magical world of Hermes is full of Hermes fairies who exist to grant wishes to some lucky clients on IG and YouTube, but I’m getting really annoyed watching all of their posts as I know that their patronage of the brand yields quite different results than mine.

I keep telling myself, just two more QB and I’m going to H anonymous to cleanse and resume my life as normal. :)

Now you have me curious what are the specs of the qbs you mentioned to get you to purse peace.

LMFAO ! Shots fired , lol and I love it here in TPF ! Nothing but facts was stated . Hermes need to clean house, when these SA’s behaves in this unprofessional way . These D list influencers dress like ragamuffins and tell lies about “ how to score a quota bag “ it’s a bunch horse$$$$ !

I still have love for the B/K/C bags because , it’s always been a dream to purchase one but I don’t like to play the Hermès game or kissing A$$ and only god know what else to get a bag ! I really enjoy having these conversations and I hope in the future Hermes will be across the board for all consumers who want to purchase bags , and put a end to “the im better than you because I have a larger following and I can Dm a Hermes SA and get appt” This trend needs to be stopped asap !
apparently Hermes cleaned house here in Miami, but thats a discussion for another thread.

agreed with everyone here questioning what/who are they actually influencing, especially since its a relatively new concept which has unfortunately gotten out of hand. so many people on this forum have been buying/collecting/admiring H pieces for decades.

I miss the old days when you could search for a video with an honest review (and no ads) as part of your research about an item you were already considering.

Does anyone else feel like social media has sort of ruined the Birkin bag? You see it everywhere on all these tacky ‘influencers’ - even if these bags are fake there’s still some major brand dilution. I have a couple of birkins from my mom, but am afraid to wear them out because their symbolic meaning seems to be conspicuous consumption and ‘flex’ culture now
I feel that courting the influencers turned the bag into something very, very recognizable and consumable. Resellers made it worse because people who watch social media but don’t shop assume the inflated resale prices are the retail prices. It makes me less comfortable to wear my items out in some situations.

There’s a reason Jane Birkin only had one birkin at a time and owners used their bags for decades and then passed them into the next generation. I have always loved Hermes because the bags are beautiful but also high quality and could last a life time.

The hyper consumption of some influencers, obviously for content because watching how someone styles a few classic bags over a long period of time won’t make an influencer business, is really off putting to me. And the H games is also encouraging lots of consumption, which is something I am trying to be mindful of in my own shopping. And the brand recognition is also a bit off putting because I am less comfortable wearing some of my bags out.

HloverCC and Mel in Melbourne come to mind and aometimes Tamara K. They cant possibly be able to use all the bought merchandise with the the frequency they buy them, possibly except Tamara coz shes a model.

It will affect those two brands in particular because they are loud and

Then they all go to some special associate that has this kind of “pull”. Paris, just like my home store, is lately staffed with new inexperienced people. I was there last week. My impression is that many SA’s do not have the relationship with the management necessary to approve anything or even afraid to ask. It’s getting super weird. Oh and, French people get priority over anyone who isn’t French. They will literally sell bags to the French person without appointment or prespend, and laugh behind the backs of other customers who actually spend money on their products and wait around to possibly get an appointment.
Could it be that these « special associates » are the ones with relationships with management? Also, for Parisians, the three stores are their home stores! Where else would they shop? And to assume these local and French customers don’t spend at Hermes is very far from the truth. To me, it makes sense locals would have priority as it is custom everywhere else including your own home store.

I think the issue with many people have with these influencers getting bags in Paris is that they believe just by stepping foot in FSH, one is guaranteed a bag. Influencers create this illusion that everyone will get a bag, but a lottery doesn’t guarantee a bag, but rather guarantees an equal chance.
