Influencers and Hermes

I have also recently noticed a recent trend among certain tiktok-ers where they're chronicling their journey of trying to buy an Hermes bag. Everyone from @clothesarefriends to @Audreypeters (to name only a few) are starting to post a lot about them trying to get a B or a K! I think it is fun to follow along! Wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I also was wondering if because they have a social following, it might be easier for them to get a B or K!

I think French influencer Leia Sfez may have some kind of a relationship with Hermès, as she attends all of their shows... But honestly I don't know how these things work. She always looks so fabulous with her vintage Kelly. She's by far my favorite.

omg I love this look and shes sooo chic!!! I also feel this way about Monica Ainley De La Villardiere -- I feel like the chic french influencers like always have KILLER H bags!

I've been noticing this too. Also Charles Gross, who a while ago swore off the whole "Hermès game" but seems to be back at it.

Hermes gets views - views pays influencers' bills, and leads to company deals.

Mini Kellys can be bought from resellers - even though they charge obscene amounts, this is the way to get a new one unless H magically sells you one. Can probably be considered a business expense as well.

I was reading on another thread of a Youtuber whose mom is an SM in a London store. I hope it’s appropriate to discuss it here but isn’t it such a conflict of interest? I wonder how does that work?

We sign «no conflict of interest» confirmation, like, each year to ensure that we or our friends or family members ever benefit from our relationship with our employer so I am really interested to know how this works. Thoughts?

ETA: some posters say they know for a fact that the mom is an SM so I would not dispute this.

So I remember the Youtuber had a bunch of videos with her mom but way back. And then she deleted them all and made a video about how her mom didn't feel comfortable on her YT anymore. But then recently her mom visited and they released a slew of new videos together.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by conflict of interest confirmation

If the Social Media star that you are watching said: "Hey guys, I finally got a Picotin 18 (hey, it is cute and popular but I wouldn't do a prespend of a huge amount for this..just my opinion) after a five year wait and a million Euros in prespend! I am so excited..I really have a sweet and friendly SA who looks out for the things that I like..I will spend another half a million and buy more FJs and then I'd be qualified to get an all-black Rodeo Pegase Touch PM..wait for my next unboxing videos!" ;)
How would you feel? Would that appeal to you? Would you buy more of that brand and feel that your "goals" are attainable? Would it speak nicely of the brand? Probably not?!
Therefore, they have to make it sound like a fairy tale..and there has to be a"Happily Everafter ending" :) The more that a video is pleasing and gives a good feeling, the more followers it has..which translates to more money!
Not saying everything online isn't true. But if money and businesses are involved, a lot of factors play into that video content.

Your example cracked me up.

It would be refreshing to hear someone's true "journey", though it wouldn't be much helpful since everyone's journey is so different. I don't usually watch these videos, but I'd be more supportive of these "influencers".

Well if she (the SM) signed something like that too.....and someone alerts HR about what has been happening.....obviously the employee will have some explaining to do---at the very least.

I enjoy following along as well(mostly on YouTube as it's my platform of choice). Think we're in the minority here on this though ;)
