Influencers and Hermes

She looked unhappy in some glances, after all she was only recently chasing for Hermes ! It is so hard to believe that any reasonable human being would do that without multiple deals. She also has everyone’s attention for that decision, so something big is surly coming up while the attention is at its peak.
I was just thinking the same. she only started with Hemes around 4 years ago. I tried listening to the life coach bit for her reasoning, but later shes talking about shopping at Mulberry.

I understand purse peace and contentment, but this made no sense to me.

she's doing this all for clicks. The more buzz words and keywords she uses it helps her algorithm. The shocking caption "why I'm selling all my bags" is done for clicks. And that creates more views / money she will make with whatever she decides to promote next, which seems to be a clothing collab.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a PR Stint ....in 3 to 4 years will we see her wearing Birkins again? Even if she's banned from H, she will afford them on the secondhand market.

Ok- I’m calling it! This is absolute codswallop. Apart from the fact I personally couldn’t care less, she really wants us to believe that her taste has changed so dramatically and quickly that Hermes is not her aesthetic- um- that makes me think “immature”. She needed a life coach to get her to this decision? Seriously? And where are the rest of her Hermes and Chanel bags??? She had ALOT more than what was for sale on Sellier Knightsbridge. This is a very successful business woman- you don’t get to over 1M subscribers without being savvy….so yer, not a stretch to think this is a publicity stunt. Side bar opinion- I don’t think any exec over at Mulberry thinks they “beat” Hermes….i woulda thought a better play would be to be seen as a brand sitting cozy beside Hermes and Chanel by such a “famed” influencer….that is the definition of “influencing” IMO.
Ok- I’m done!!!

I don't have TikTok but I'm curious what she considers the 'British mini Kelly"
@benjinito , thanks for posting. Tanner krolle is super high quality. I think at one point it was owned by Chanel. Not sure.

ETA: just googled it. Heritage handmade luggage brand. Carried by harrods, selfridges, asprey. Apparently Cary grant used TZk luggage exclusively. Other clients were Jackie Kennedy and princess Diana. Purchased by Chanel in the nineties. And acquired by private equity some time thereafter.

ETA: I think private equity is the kiss of death re quality, but historically it was a great brand. Also just recalled DH had a red box leather TK briefcase in the nineties. It was gorgeous.

Maybe I missed something but Lydia is selling her Hermes collection but also buying more bags. So she's not selling to downsize or get rid of materialistic stuff but for some other reason?
🤔
To be fair, I don’t think she ever said she was downsizing. She said Hermes is too expensive and made her feel unsafe. So this doesn’t go against that narrative.

Thanks for doing the research @880. I hadn’t heard of this brand before. It looks pretty cute in the video, but I don’t think it resembles Mini Kellys at all so it’s a little strange to call it that  And the J.crew bag also doesn’t look anything like a Birkin or Kelly picnic.

I just wanted to chime in to second the point about feeling unsafe. I keep hearing that London isn’t friendly to carry Hermes bags around… let alone using your cellphone while walking too? Again, just reiterating anecdotes from friends that have been to the UK recently. Maybe there’s some UK based forum users that could also help clarify.

I wear Hermes every single day in London.

Influencers need drama, if they can't find any they make it up. Safety always on our minds (or should be) just carrying a phone is a liability, but all of this is OT.

Can we move on please :tender:
