Influencers and Hermes

yes and they need the momentum given by the influencers since they are newcomer to the beauty space
I think this could be done in another way... I personally don't like this at all (and also it seems as if they have some supply issues as some products sell out quickly and then you have to wait for a long time for it to be back in stock).

Why would you say she got it for free?
i heard that no one gets any bag for free not even with a discount at H
its not like LV were coussin bags were gifted
it might have been easier for her to get a mini but mini Kelly despite being difficult to get aren’t considered as quota bags
some celebs use priveporter to source bags that mean that even if they’re celebrities they cannot always get the bag in the specs they want
She posted them on her Instagram with the hashtag #ad and showed how she facetime the Hermes PR people at FSH that told her that they'll even ship her bag to Germany

I would strongly agree with the OP. I have seen a lot of influencers over the past year get H quota bags with seemingly very little pre spend. Examples would be mvb, Leonie Hanne, Claire Rose, Camille Charriere, Alyssa Lenore, Je Suis Lou, Josefinehj, etc. I think in most of the cases, they influencers did pay for the bags but it was a lot easier for them to get them and they likely didn’t have to hit the 1:1 ratio. I find it problematic because it’s promoting largely unrealistic spending and expectations - for example, Leonie Hanne getting 2 mini Kelly’s in a year or Alyssa Lenore getting offered a SO with little pre spend. That is not going to happen for MOST of the people following these accounts. Of course these people being influencers made these purchases possible but it would be nice if they were a little more transparent about it instead of posting countless unboxings as if it’s so attainable. Personally, it starts to cheapen the brand a bit when I feel inundated by H unboxing videos. I still love Hermes but I’m just getting a little weary from influencer overload.

As mentioned earlier, influencers need content to entice their followers and to gain new ones. We only see and hear what they tell us, and a lot of people believe what is said. I think sometimes people forget that some influencers might stretch the truth a bit or not want to disclose they purchased an item from a reseller; they are content creators, who earn a living doing this as a job, and need to maintain their persona.

Just a side note, some of these influencers are also quickly let go of an item after they’ve unboxed and used it for their content. They’re off to the next latest highly desired and extremely difficult to attain fashionable item. Some of them may comment that they’re rehoming an item because they don’t use it, it doesn’t fit their lifestyle, they no longer are in love with the color, etc. and/or create a secondary account to clean out their closet.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great to rehome an item when you no longer want it for whatever reason because it opens the door for other enthusiasts who would cherish the item.

I just saw this in GabrielleCaunesil instagram stories. It looks like Hermes provided this notebook as a gift for the birth of her son.

So it does look like Hermes has caved and now catering to IG influencers. It's quite a turn-off of the brand for me.

Hermes has given out relatively inexpensive SLGs as rare gifts to random VIPs for years (I’ve seen calvis and passport holders as well).

Ok I have to either rant or convey my disbelief. There are SO many you tubers who claim to have just walked into the boutique and gotten a bag or been randomly offered an SO on the spot. I simply don’t believe that’s true!! I think they must be lying bc the chance that the luckiest people at Hermes also happen to make YouTube videos (with relatively
Low viewership) seems a bit ridiculous…

In addition to what has been shared here with regard to influencers it should be taken all with a grain of salt.
Influencers etc will say whatever they have to say & most of it is embellished, JMO

Yes - they often hold themselves out to be loyal H clients who spend regularly and in good amounts until you see them offloading goods even quota bags on FB . But H seems to not care about this.
yes, some of them even introduced by other "rich lady" to that known BIG name MC to do the show and to be offered a quota bag, it's a gang ! I always thought there might be some organized gang behind either some big reseller brand like PrivePorter or fashionphile? :noworry::noworry::noworry:
