And the very VCA jewelry she’s wearing. BUT She wanted to add she stopped wearing her Cartier Love Bracelet a year ago. So let the record reflect that 😂 she did it before it was cool to do it.

Also out (I hope) the spastic, waving hands when she talks. Geez that’s annoying and distracting.

She has zero clue about these things and is just trying to make content. Her whole persona is a trend. Hermes everything until now everyone has it, and she’s constantly asking for tips or names the next luxury brand in hopes of getting one foot in front of the hoards of other influencers.

Saying something is in or out is mean girl behavior. If it makes you happy to wear it then go for it! Who cares what the internet says. And I know I’m the last person to lecture you on pointing out mean girl behavior when I’m just rife with snark here. But what’s the point of this? People are going to spend thousands of dollars on these items and then this girl says they’re out so…what next? We throw them out, stop enjoying them? I don’t get it.

I watched this - so you don’t have to. ;) Basically mini bags are out (except mini Kelly because Hermes is in a different league). Oran and Chanel ugly shoes are out, crossbody bags are out (but it’s ok to wear Evelyne and MK, Tania will still wear hers.) Crescent shapes bags are out and Cartier stacks are definitely out. I don’t disagree with any of these, because once something is overexposed - it is by definition ’out’. That doesn’t mean that if you like it you can’t wear it, it’s just not the ‘hottest new thing’ any more. Do I care? No, but only because I don’t follow ‘influencers’ and their manifestos. She also says that she will look into smaller, unknown artisans, designers and craftspeople. I am all for that too. It’s nice to see creativity in fashion, rather than just a pile up of expensive things and ‘influencers’ trying to outdo each other. In London, you can now pretty much guess someone’s (over) exposure to Instagram from the way they are dressed.

I'm so with you on this. I'm being repetitive but she lost me when she dissed the Jypsiere because it was "Just as expensive as a quota bag". No other reason!

She also does this with quota bags she doesn't have. She doesn't like the Birkin 25 because, supposedly, she can't fit enough stuff in it but she loves the MK. Not that everything she says has to make sense but she's looking at this "journey" from a monetary angle, which gives me the ick. Especially since she claims she's against reselling... If she would admit she cares more for status and resale value, her content would be more authentic.
 
These people really do the brand no favours - at all. Hermès shouldn't be subject to trends and mindless consumerism, I hate that the brand we've loved for years has gone down this path, this greed and constant flaunting and obsessing is just too much. I get the love, I'm fortunate to have many beautiful bags and pieces but it seems as if these ' influencers' are all out to outdo each other and it's become an embarrassment to watch. Maybe one day, mindful consumerism will be the order of the day, these bags are meant to be used and cherished for decades, not trophies to parade on Insta.

Saying things are "out" reminds me of children policing their classmates outfit choices and brands. I honestly do not like trend content unless it is rooted in evidence.. summarizing consumer or runway patterns. Not just 'feelings'.

Also, I don't ever see a time when crossbody bags will be 'out'? 😂

The older I get, the more crossbody I like. I’m tired of holding things or having it slip off my shoulder 😂

It's more general than Hermes, she seems to be actually addressing LVMH and Kering, but she makes good points. What she doesn't perhaps realise is there is a bit more skullduggery involved with the young influencers she's talking about. Some get gifts, particularly when they are paid to go to the big shows, but most 'bagger-braggers' only pretend to be gifted by the brands. Their designer bags are funded by the dupe bags they are really promoting (usually without declaring their sponsorship/partnership/gifts). These, plus Tania, and many of the newly anti-luxury influencers have worked out H/LV/Gucci etc are never going to work with them but dupe companies are.

I am glad that 13-22s are not spending all their money on H and other designer brands. Eva is 100% right, that luxury brands have been seeking to encourage Gen Zs to spend their money on luxury is a 360º put-off, whichever angle you look at it. I haven't bought a single thing from H all year. I love a bit of fun like the next person, but instead of a Bolide on wheels or a mini the size of a toy, why can't we also have a beautiful Bolide in an adult size as a work bag?

Addressing the vid's point that luxury companies only want younger clients, the McKinsey report '24 The State of Fashion' that collated primary research from leaders inside luxury brands predicts that luxury's new target market will be 'Silver Spenders' (over 50s) in 2025. I personally think that traditional demographics are as dated as a dodo. I look forward to luxury companies like Hermes, creating products and marketing towards its existing clients, whatever age they are. They surely have all the data they need for that.
