I didn't know how a VIP appointment works (never done it 😁),
Me neither. Apparently they expect you to spend like a vip. lol jk but from what I gather a vip appointment you get a special room and they pull a bunch of stuff for you to look at or things you’ve asked about. I think the understanding is they expect you to spend like a vip. Of course you also get offered special bags I guess depending on spend.

Do you all find her YouTube videos helpful and \ or entertaining?
I’m not super into Fendi or LV which is what she also loves so I won’t say ALL. Mostly the Hermes stuff.
Also, I don’t know Meredith, but would like to see her content. Can someone share her YouTube name?

I didn't know how a VIP appointment works (never done it 😁), but if regular people's leather appointments can go straight to the bags, then wouldn't a VIP also?

I have the impression everyone who knows Meredith personally absolutely loves her, so I try to keep an open mind. But I can't help thinking there was something beyond the miscommunication about the appointment.

I have watched a few videos and seen her ig and i don’t know about her being nice and friendly but imo something is very off about a person who needs to buy that much stuff regardless of wealth. It’s the same with Jamie chua and anyone else who has hundreds and hundreds of bags in the same style but different colors. Perhaps it’s like a hobby for them but golly there are so many better things to spend money and time on. That’s just my opinion.

Edit: Screen shots of her collections below. It’s a lot of stuff. This to me gives hoarding vibes and compensating for something. I don’t know what but thank God it’s not animals.

Also as a luxury community while we can say oh that’s a nice bag or congrats on that acquisition we need to stop normalizing this level of shopping because I’m sorry but this is NOT normal. People are so crazy about constantly spending money and flexing today. It’s mostly only on social media we see these things.

I think Meredith thought since she was getting a vip appointment and it’s Paris that maybe she was getting a bag without prespend. So when the sa was showing her other stuff like rtw and watches, she was annoyed? And maybe that looked like she was arrogant or high maintence to the sa? She was probably tired from the jet lag and long haul flight and just wanted the bag and didn’t think she needed to ā€œshopā€?
But she took the train from London...that's not long haul travel.
It's interesting that she was so stressed and out of her mind in the first place!
She seriously seems really spun up and as if she approached this whole thing in a bizarre state of mind (plus getting the VIP appointment thing totally wrong).

Entertaining? No. Her videos are so monotone I can never watch the whole thing. When she's doing the intro, it feels like she's reading a text.

@THeartsBags

But she comes off as more of a collector rather than truly a bag enthusiast imo.
I believe in one of her videos she acknowledges this. She calls herself a collector. I think that’s part of the disconnect with me personally, as someone who enjoys watches luxury content on YouTube. Sometimes it can seem like just checking a box for her.

Seeing the two sides of her Paris appointment, from her perspective and Dayles, was very interesting.

I think she's more interested in being VIP with the brands than the stuff itself. It seems like her strategy is to buy everything, and then no one could be possibly a higher value client. She's big on letting the viewers know she's VVIP and showing off gifts, invitations, bags that "only she" could be offered cause of her status.

She does label it "collecting" but idk.

Yes it's something strange and unhealthy. She just put out a video justifying it as people simply don't understand what it means to be a collector. She cries for joy about getting bags.

I can understand crying getting a sentimental bag.

Yes, the crying bit threw me off as well. If it were me, I would have probably edited that part out :) She also cried in the private room. I give her kudos for being honest about how deeply she cares about her collection, or list, or whatever it is...

I agree! I’ve watched some of her videos and, although i’m not a fan of her dry personality, i like seeing her bag candy because there aren’t many people with such a huge collection of bags.
However, she definitely just buys for the sake of it. She has mentioned in a video that she feels she needs to have complete collections, for example the LV Murakami bags. So it’s not necessarily that she loves all the bags but she feels she needs them. It’s definitely an addiction and even though it’s a fun and ā€œharmlessā€ addiction, imo it gets to a point where you have to stop and admit you have a problem and need help addressing the underlying issue.

I needed to hear what others think here cause her comment section is full of butterflies and sunshine, and I was wondering if I was the only who was feeling like something was strange. I never see even a neutral comment on her videos, just praise for her only.

lol it’s bc negative comments are removed or censored. I still remember when YouTube, IG comment sections were 100% unfiltered.

No, you're not alone. If you scroll back in this thread, you will find the discussion about the reindeer/horder/Ikea situation.
