Influencers and Hermes

I noticed Dacob making lots of Hermes videos after trashing the house for years only to proclaim that he’s been an Hermes client for a long time -so then he can begin making Hermes content and join the bandwagon.

makes sense that influencers are actually influencing within their own community of influencers.

Sophie Shohet has also been making videos about Hermes and VanCleef, and also proclaimed that she was interested in these items years before they became popular 🙄… its okay to like popular items! lol

I usually spot the "new to H influencer" by their desire to get a mini K in craie, which is the most trendy upon trendy, frankly unimaginative combination out there (apologies to all the long-standing H customers who are in fact angling for that bag). Then they'll state how "it's just such a timeless color and bag that I can use forever" when it's probably gonna age like this:

Is it really "influencing" if they're just perpetuating an already well-established trend?

I mean there's only so much content one can create and if no one (or very few) wants to hear about Vivienne Westwood, then whatever the next bandwagon, it is. I agree its kind of cringe but then again I can see if one wants to make a business and not just a hobby, you have to "follow the money".

I personally really can't stand Sophie Sophet. Her approach to style and items is so not luxurious imho.

I use to watch Sophie Shohet around 2016 for her reviews on Chanel’s Cuba collection with the pink patent beauties 😍. But no so much after I quickly realized that she does a lot of click-bait with staged aesthetic photos and pretend “tricks”. for example, she would put an Aspinal of London bag next to luxury designer package before revealing that its Aspinal lol. or when she introduces a video with there is a trick to save money on Hermes -only to state going vintage secondhand
