haha definitely getting one. I'm also having the height of it be less than the wedding band so that it us hidden more than if it were same size. Luckily basket covers it completely so no one will know difference. My jeweler said between 1-1.25mm and half the depth of the ering and custom so that it clears completely and won't scratch.

Ame - he recommended 2/3 or 3/4 eternity so it is more comfortable when I pick things up and I won't scratch things too... Df didn't like the full either.

I think you made a fantastic selection :)

Thank you!!! I hope so too but I will always perpetually doubt myself until it's on my finger! Haha 4-6 wk wait starts all over...

I'm actually quite excited about DF's ring. It matches so well and he was surprisingly more picky in terms of what he wanted. I was expecting him to just want whatever fits but he had ideas on what he wanted and I like that he did! I love them as a set! He went with white gold in the end! No underwater lifesaving for us! Hahaha

congratulations on your engagement! what a beautiful ring and an equally lovely story to go with it. :) out of all the bands you looked at, def think the novo one looked the best! congrats again!!

Yep, the Novo was my choice too. I have a 2/3 ring (well it was probably a 1/2 diamond, but It's sized to a 3 so it ends up being 2/3 diamonds) and I LOVE it.
You ring is SO AMAZING, and the novo style really completes it.

Also I remembered you were going up in size and that you went with WG, but for some reason I just missed the diamond decision. It is SPECTACULAR!

DOH! Don't go on the undersea mining platform! lol

Its a good thing that your wedding is a few months off, so you can wait for this ring ;)

Plu - thank you! I'm still so surprised he was so creative with the proposal. We both will definitely be cryin at the wedding. I really didn't think i would cry! Everything couldn't have been more perfect!

Ame- LOL! I know! Guess no cruises or sea adventures for us! Without the ring we are doomed! Haha also found someone to insure my engagement ring along with chubbs so I'm really excited! My DF has been so scared he makes me sleep with it on.

Size 3? Wow! You have skinny fingers! I'm so jealous! My friend just got engaged and I thought her 3.25 size was small. No wonder your ring is so incredible looking.

I love the look of the novo! I was so torn because knowing it "match" as a set was so tempting but looking at it, the novo looked better since there was less metal showing.

We are really happy with out decision to drop to white gold and put the money towards the diamond! White gold was perfect and feels a lot lighter too! The platinum didn't feel good on me and I didn't like the weight. But I can understand that people would love it. With my novo, spacer and engagement ring it was sustaintial enough for me. I also read a few other things online that went with what you suggested about white gold for plain shanks since it won't scratch as quickly. So I guess it was a lucky call for us! And money saver in the end too! DF also likes the lighter feel of white gold for himself too.

I so wish I could wear gold. Stupid skin.

DO NOT SLEEP IN IT. Lock it up somehow. Sleeping in rings is SO bad for them, especially gold. The friction with the fabric will wear it down faster, and if there's any roughness on any prong and it snags a thread it will really mess the ring up. Put it in the ring box and lock it up in a lockbox/safe whatever. And get it insured NOW.

That's what I thought! But everyone kept telling me to sleep in it! I thought they were crazy! I did it for the first time last night and I don't think I would do it again. We are trying to find a better more usable box to put the ring in or on while I sleep. The tacori one seems like it couldn't takethr wear and tear as well as some others. I was even debating getting a crystal box on my bedside?

We are meeting with agent at my lunch break today to insure it. We are so happy to be able to go with chubbs!

I am excited that you can be insured by them also! I have been SO happy with them. I only had to make that one claim and it was so smooth and simple I felt like I was gonna get some sort of shocker later. Nope! Perfect! You will be insured IMMEDIATELY.

I would seriously see if your local jeweler will give you a ring box. I am actually surprised Jon didn't send you one of theirs. That's what I would do, just a simple ring box. Keep it on your nightstand at night. Don't wear while cleaning, cooking, showering or sleeping. Just not worth the risk!

Good old gold sent me the tacori box which I wanted more! I'm sure when we get our custom rings that I will get a bigger box and can put both in there. I would have been pissed if I got a regular box and not the tacori one!

I'm officially insured yay!! Was super quick and fast! The only problem was finding an agent that would do it. I was turned down by two of them and even considered changing a policy over to chubbs to get it. Jewelers mutual wasn't that much cheaper than chubbs. Everyone I know that has had jewelry insurance with chubbs has been really happy.

I love Chubb. Love. I am SO glad you were able to get on with them!!!

I know GOG would definitely give you the official box. I don't know many jewelers that wouldn't. But I think if there's no slot it's less functional. :) Ive even bought ring boxes on Ebay, just basic slot ones, that are smaller sizes so I can keep them in my purse as needed.

I kept getting different responses from different agents... first said i needed two policies. the other said the value for a stand alone policy for a single piece of jewelry has to exceed over 30k... then another said it had to exceed 25k.... I'm really happy I was able to get it today and have it active.

When my sister got her ring, it didnt come in a Tacori box and she had to go back and ask. I was really surprised but the jeweler provided it without a problem. You figured that they should be given to the store when the item is returned from tacori? ooOOh! That is a great idea to keep a small one in my purse for it! I have a jade ring my grandmother gave me that has a really small box that I can use actually. Perfect! I totally forgot I had it until now haha

Oooo, where do you guys get your rings insured? Through homeowner's insurance or an independent place? My ring still isn't insured because we have no clue where to go/what to do LOL. Also, I sleep in my ring *guilty* I just can't bear to part with it! But now I'm convinced retiring it to the ring box while sleeping/napping will be better for the overall life and well being of my ring :D

We went through chubb insurance on a stand alone policy. It's about $20 per $1k insured per year. They don't always want you to have a stand alone so you may need to call around. Definitely insure your ring kohl! It'll make you feel better when walking around with it. Chubbs will give you cash value for it which is really good compared to some companies I was shopping around with.

I only slept with it once... I was so scared I was going to poke my DF in the eye! Haha
