You can have both ;) I have the Passifolia tea set and the pink MF cast iron pot
Don’t! I already have a full Villeroy and Boch set, AND I’ve got my eye on a Wedgwood china set next… My kitchen cabinets are already going -

I was seeing some comment in the Hermes lawsuit thread that nothing would sell unless H could dangle the prospects of a kelly or birkin in front of their customers.

Hermes auctions with items other than bags have been around for more than two decades and that wouldn't have been profitable or possible if people weren't interested in other items. Hermes sales are incredibly overcrowded and they don't even sell bags there anymore. Hermes has or at least had a reputation for delivering very high quality and well-considered items in every category.

I don't disagree that the company is using B/K items to boost sales in other categories, it's pretty obvious that they are. But Hermes used to at least have clients that shopped mostly silks, it has fans that mainly buy the fragrance and the china used to be a staple in higher end china shops outside of Hermès stores too.

I'd still buy their watches..(I'm a fan of the Cape Cod design, and I hanker after the Galop especially with diamonds) I do love some of their jewellery -the Punk designs and Chaine d'Ancre as well as some of the crazy HV jewellery pieces.
I'm a fan of some of their silk designs although I admit I really dont gravitate towards wearing the scarves I do have, I still love the designs and have to stop myself buying more.
I would have brought RTW in the MM and JPG years and like some of the coats from recent seasons
Boots and the odd pair of shoes.
I like their homeware but not their china designs (unpopular opinion?)...I hanker after the leather wrapped stone paperweight, some of the wicker pieces, anything incorporating wood and leather.
And there are bags in production I would buy rather than the holy trinity..
Namely the plume,Arcon, The Hac a Dos, Jypsiere,Garden party, and Halzan.
In fact if I had the budget I would be buying a sofa and watches and FJ not as bag bait but because I think they are are lovely.

I somewhat wish this can happen  while a lot of us here have other reasons to love Hermes, I have no doubt many are only buying for the iconic bags (not that there's anything wrong with doing what you want with your own money!)...but if the bags don’t exist, it would work great for me since I would still love other things that are now going to be less in demand. Perhaps I can get my size of RTW and shoes more easily, and maybe I'd actually be able to complete my tableware collection, and of course I also love the scarves. (I will say that for RTW I only like a subset of their pieces and am not a fan of a lot of the other pieces; that’s how I buy right now anyways). In terms of bags besides the BKC, I love Bolides like many others in this thread, and a couple other styles (but Bolide is number one). And SLGs too - so far this year my best purchase has been an agenda that I’ve been using every day (journaling was my New Year’s resolution). For jewelry, I wouldn’t get them at their current prices, but without those bags maybe they would be priced better? In which case there are designs that I actually would totally get.

Funnily enough, in that hypothetical world, I think the RTW, jewelry, shoes, etc. will actually be valued "higher", in a sense, than they are right now. Right now, there are definitely people who will look at someone wearing H pieces and think "haha look at that Birkin bait, they are buying those for a bag, how sad", which wouldn't exist in the hypothetical world where people would be buying all that simply for the pieces themselves. (Personally this doesn’t bother me right now but I can see it bothering some people; I had a friend who said they prefer other brands’ items than the Hermes ones when giving gifts because they don’t want to be perceived as using “Birkin bait” as gifts).

This sort of blows my mind. ;) It's never really occurred to me that people might look at what I'm wearing and assume I only bought it as "bait". I've rarely given H pieces as gifts, but I think it would be in pretty poor taste for the recipient to assume I chose that gift partly with my own "pre-spend self-interest" in mind (for the record I do not buy anything as "bait" or worry about pre-spend). Good thing I've reached an age where I couldn't care less what others think!

I'd continue buying what I liked and brought me joy - as that's how I started with H, and how I shop in general. My first obsession is with the scarves in all versions (mens, womens, CGSMs, 90s, 70s, etc). Apart from scarves, I don't particularly spend "thoroughly" in metiers as I only like specific items within each (e.g. Passifolia collection, Punk jewelery, the Galop watch). I have a few sweaters and don't find myself wanting more; all the ones I have are pretty simple in design as that's my preference, and I wear them regularly. And while I feel fortunate to have my K, I use my Roulis and CTG regularly.

I think for me, it's about finding a design that I'm drawn to and sometimes having a practical/functional aspect to it. For example, there was a fun scarf design from last year that I liked - but just wasn't loving it in the 90 format. I later found out they had the same print on a tray (and I was actually looking for a new valet tray/catch-all for the front hallway), so that turned out to be the perfect outcome i.e. 2 birds, 1 stone kind of situation.

I love love their twillianes! They’re the only house I know of that makes this type of RTW piece. It’s so comfortable to wear for me. (Open to any alternative and cheaper suggestions )

I personally prefer H’s other handbags than the B/Ks. I like “hands free” type of bags/crossbody. And I think H does a great job at making subtle, logo less yet super durable handbags. My daily favorites are: Halzan, Hac a Dos backpack, my Kelly Ado backpack, and the Kelly Messenger. If they no longer make or offer B/Ks I’m ok with that because they’re “eh” for me.

Lastly, to add, my DH is a watch collector and he actually prefers H watches over other brands (Rolex, Patek, Omega, Cartier, etc.). He says if you look across all the other houses they all look the same and “old” looking. But H, they’re unique pieces and fun. For example, a watch with a real piece of meteorite as the face is a conversation starter versus diamonds and just gold is so “boring”, according to him. At least he can expand on space rather than the chemical compound of gold/diamonds lol

Edit to add: If we had the budget, I would love to get some of their furniture. The style and color scheme is definitely the “look” and “feel”. Neutral, cream, wood, and touch of leather is so cozy to me. Unfortunately, can’t justify the price.

This is so true.
I always feel offended (I know I shouldn't) when some YouTuber calls my beloved Evelynes Birkin bait. I don't care for quota bags. The Evelyne has always been my favorite style and I bought quite a few of them. When I look at old photos I have always been the girl with a huge casual crossbody bag. It's just soooo me. I can't stand that it's now even hard to buy an Evelyne in store and those wouldn't even count towards some fictional prespend. I'm not on a "journey" towards a quota bag. I just want to see stock of items I actually want to buy.

Some of you mentioned their watches and I feel the same. I have always really liked them because of their unique and beautiful designs and gorgeous watch straps. I don't wear jewelry, so my watch is always my only "jewelry" piece. The other coveted watch brands just don't do it for me. If I didn't wear my Apple Watch (Hermès version, of course) I would totally choose an Hermès watch over other brands. I also just don't like playing games whether it's Hermès, Rolex or any other brand. I don't have time for that and can't be bothered to spend my life that way. It's too sad that people would consider my watch Birkin bait but I should be old enough to not care, I know.

CSGMs, fragrance and shoes for me.
That’s what I started buying before i went down the bkc path.
And now having been an H client for a few years, I’d continue with their blankets and since we’re only eliminating BKC, i’d still come back for their ML 😊
