Found this vintage coach at the thrift today. No idea on authenticity, but my question is what is the style of this? I’m almost regretting not picking it up because I knew of a style that looks the same that can be worth a good amount for resale.

We need more pictures to determine if it's authentic.

If authentic, it looks like style 9076, Companion flap bag but the style is "well" faked so naming the style applies ONLY if the bag is genuine. Did you photograph the creed?

Hi there! New to this so apologies if this is on the wrong thread. I’m looking to sell my mother’s bag for her but I am very unfamiliar with Coach. She believes she bought this in the 70s or 80s… could anyone tell me anymore about the bag based on the images and serial number? I’ve hit dead ends online. She has not had any repairs made to this bag, it is in original condition.

It's a basic bag, also called a zippered clutch, style #9455. It was made in either the late 70s or the 80s. The serial number was unique to the bag and doesn't tell you anything about the style. Sometimes I can narrow down the age of the bag by looking at the tabs on the sides of the bag. This was a very popular style that Coach made for many years. In 1982, it sold for $66.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply!! My bag doesn’t have a tab - not sure if my mom removed it (if it’s detachable) or if it just didn’t come with one. Also, I’ve had someone tell me that the strap is normally a loop, despite my mom telling me that nothing has been changed on the bag and this was how she originally purchased it from Coach. Any insight on that?

By tabs I mean the sides of the bag where the loops to attach the strap are. The long strap is usually two strips of leather attached together but at the time this bag was made, Coach allowed people to substitute straps that were made for other bags. Or someone who has more than one bag can interchange them.

ETA: Actually I don't think that strap was made by Coach.
