Hi, haven’t been here in a long time. I’m looking for a website that had a list of vintage names and numbers. I came in to possession a few vintage bags I can’t find online. Anyone know what I’m talking about? Specifically, the numbers are 5021, 8007 and 2809. Thank you!

The one I'm thinking of was a blog which might not still exist. It's probably easier to ask here unless you want to look through the catalog thread.

ETA: you can do a search of the forum with the style number and you'll probably find the name in some of the posts that come up.

Hi! Wondering if I can get an ID on this bag? It very much gives Courier vibes but no “tongue.” Measures 9.75” wide x 8” tall x 4” deep. The strap is very short, otherwise I’d think it was a Patricia. It measures 36.5” end to end.

These days, counterfeiters have access to many of the same materials Coach uses, so the quality could be as good as Coach, but that doesn't mean it was made by Coach. Just because the bag feels like good quality doesn't mean it isn't counterfeit. It is my opinion it is absolutely counterfeit. There is no way to get around that 2012 date code with materials and creed design and wording that weren't used until after Stuart Vevers took over.

That bar code looks meaningless. It isn't the standard format for bar codes. Have you tried looking up that number to see what you get?
It’s been a few years but I just saw this article and I guess I do have a sample bag! I still have this one and carry it when I need a sturdy and large work tote. Just wanted to pass along this link. https://essexfashionhouse.com/blogs/news/coach-sample-bags-your-chance-to-own-something-special

This doesn’t quite look the same as I remember but here’s a reference listing that someone might find helpful: http://coachbagrehab.blogspot.com/2012/05/coach-style-numbers-and-photos.html?m=1

1970s-80s Classic Shoulder Bag maybe? I was a tad conservative on my measurements.IMG_0775.jpeg

Experts, ShopGoodwill is calling this a Madison satchel. My vintage Madison doesn't look like this!

I'm sort of fascinated and repulsed by the very visible zipper on this thing. It's quite un-Coachlike to these inexpert eyes.

Or maybe it's a really....er....*interesting* zipper repair?

So many questions: is this authentic? Repaired creatively, perhaps? If real, is it a variation of a Madison, or does this style have its own name?

It's not a Madison. It's a similar style called a classic satchel. Here's a picture that shows them side by side. It's authentic.9765 madison 9885 club 9880 classic satchel fall 1989 preview.jpg

That zipper style is found on a few satchels, larger bags, I think mostly brief bag styles. Since it allows the zipper to move down the side of the bag a little, it makes it easier to get larger items in and out and helps to avoid what I call knuckle scraping.

At your convenience, could you please help me identify this bag? I have looked at the catalogs going 1994 backwards but I couldn't find it, it is similar to the Standard Clutch, but this one has the detachable strap. Size is about 11.5 x 8 x 2 inches. Zippered pocket and open pocket.

TIA
