I've always been a fan of Brighton. Not everyone is, but I just want to share some things that I have learned today about Brighton. I just bought a new Brighton bag from a local boutique. The owner of this boutique was invited last summer to visit the Brighton headquarters where he got to tour their facilities.
First of all, the bags are entirely made in the United States of America. They are hand stitched (as he watched the people do it), and assembled right here in the good old USA in California. All of the hardware is 99 percent pure silver with two coats of a clear sealant to protect the silver from tarnishing. Plus, I am a hardware junkie and if you never saw Brighton hardware, it is absolutely beautiful! The leather comes mostly from Argentina and it is Grade A perfect leather. Their pebbled leathers are tumbled with thousands of foam "bricks" until the leather is beat into the utmost softness and suppleness.
Some of us have had Customer Service concerns from one designer or another, and not all of them turn out to be a big plus on the side of the consumer. Not so with Brighton. When you buy a Brighton bag, or wallet or whatever accessory is out there, you get to register it. This entitles you to five years of complete customer service on all parts of their bags without question. And, you can deal with any Brighton store anywhere. You don't have to go back to the place you bought the bag. Just contact Brighton with your registration number and they will be happy to help you.
Another wonderful thing is that you will get a surprise gift in the mail after your bag is registered. I got a coin purse that had a $50 price tag on it when I purchased a bag about 6 years ago.
The bags are not $1000, or $750 or $500. They are in the $300 range or slightly below. The lining is beautiful and attractive. The bag comes with a substantial dust bag in a brushed cotton flannel that rivals my other dust bags.
I just wanted everyone to know that there actually is a company out there that has quality workmanship, great customer service, and whose products are all made in the USA, which I think is important with this economy.
I love it!
