I thought the Oxford Legacy Stripe Tote was hot...UNTILL I SAW THE GERANIUM LEGACY!

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

This is just my personal and honest opinion, but the buying at a discount and selling on ebay for a profit comment just didn't sit well with me.

As for the comment about being mean, is stating the truth mean?

Is it or is it not quite clearly against the rules list your ebay items on tpf?

Is this not what the OP has done?

Not only in this thread but also in her legacy pond shoulder thread and her legacy stripe wallet thread along with some others.
Is it not just a creative way to get advertisement for her ebay ads?
I mean jeez, where does it stop?

Maybe the next time I'm selling something on ebay I'll make sure to make post an attention getting thread here just so I'll get more views.

I see ppl mentioning they sell stuff on eBay all the time, allll the time, why does she deserve getting picked on because of it? I know I've mentioned in some of my posts that I've put items on eBay to pay for other items. So do plenty of other people. WTH? I just don't quite understand?

Have you not noticed the sheer NUMBER of how many times this brand new tPFer has done this TODAY alone? We're not just picking on someone for the heck of it. This isn't just coincidence, it's advertising, and it IS NOT allowed here. Period.
You can't even mention items you are selling OR buying on tPF marketplace on these public boards. They revoke your MP rights if you do.

I sell on ebay as a way to make a living as many others do. But I've never once mentioned any bag I'm selling in a current auction on public posts or even private Pms. I often refer to things I have sold in the past, have owned, etc. There is a distinct difference there.

Well I'm sorry but I didn't get even a hint of "advertising" here. What I saw was her telling us what she's selling to get her new pretty bag. =)

I dunno, everyone is going to have a different opinion on how they read her initial post. It's not worth arguing about it. I'm more peeved at how some of the gals here correct newbies, very cold and unfriendly like. =P But thats singing an old tune. I know it's tough reading ppl's tones via forum. *shrug*

Newbie here...take your best shots. All this sounds is like petty jealousy...

MODS:PLEASE PM ALL THOSE WHO'VE BROKEN THE RULES (ABOUT ADVERTISING AND RUDENESS) AND CLOSE THIS THREAD!!!!!

I don't quite see what the problem is with buying things at a discount and reselling them for more. People do that with things they buy at the outlets all the time. In fact, I know of quite a few people who do that. It isn't like she's a Coach employee buying something with a discount and selling it for profit. If someone buys something at a discount, and sells it for profit, that's just good business isn't it? And the person who buys it also gets a bit of a discount (I would imagine) because otherwise the person would just buy the item brand new from Coach. So both people win out in the end, what's wrong with that? Coach already agreed to selling the item at the lower price, because they were willing to give the discount in the first place, so they already got their agreed on price out of the deal..is it just an etiquette thing that people have a problem with?

I don't sell on Ebay, I only buy, so maybe that's why I don't get it.

Oh and as for the geranium. OMG!! The first time I saw that bag I thought it was soooooooooo pretty. If I had the extra money laying around I would so be all over it. Unfortunately I had to put myself on indefinite ban due to a recent purchase. *le sigh* So dunno when that will be over with. If any of you have the money, go for it so I can live vicariously through you! *L*

alright, everyone needs to take a deep breath.

if you have a problem with someone, or a post of theirs, please pm a mod or report the post. we don't need to resort to speculation within a thread, alright?

uhh...no one ever said there was anything wrong with making a profit on Ebay...I'm sure that's why most of the people are out there...
