I realized I have not bought a Coach in over a year - anyone else and why?

I only bought one new bag last year too and I've yet to carry it. I wasn't happy to see how fast it made it to the outlet either.

Oh well...sometimes things just are what they are. I'm going to cut the tags and carry it though...I paid for it, right? lol I do like the lines but the black lining will give me fits I'm sure.
I didn't consider any pre-Vevers bags because I hated that signature lining. Once they made it to the outlet, I overcame my distaste for the lining and bought two Bleecker mini duffles. When an item doesn't sell well, Coach probably has no clue as to why.

If you use lots of bright accessories, they'll look great against the black lining.

I used to be a regular on this forum. Bought about 6 bags per year. Then slowly stopped with Legacy and then even more so with SV. I liked the Puce Swagger which appears sold out but not enough to pay $500 for it. I bought and returned a couple bags from FOS realizing I just did not want them that much. I am looking forward to the Rose Metallic Swagger but my luck it will never get made or only in small size or large. Any other long timers just given up? I have moved to MK, Burberry and am planning an LV purchase. I wish Coach would bring back something similar to the Madison style bags I loved and in medium size.
I have not either, last bag, large soft borough. I have not liked the styles or the prices.

I totally get it! I think, for me, is that the type of bag I love is a soft, slouchy buttery leather BIG shoulder bag - and unfortunately this has not been the style in the last couple of years. I love the look of structured bags, just not for me. Everything I see is too small, too boxy. I thought about the circle hobo, but havnt gotten to the store to see it in person yet.

The hobo shown in the last pages of the Fall 2015 thread looks promising!

ha ha I bought one of the Bleecker mini duffles too and ashamedly admit I haven't carried it either. I'm just terrible with letting things sit like that.

I miss the old return policy when one had months and months...years even, to take them back. lol

I do use mostly bright wristlets to organize my bags so you're right, that helps.

I'm a Coach Gal at heart and my last purchase was a Coral Rhyder from FOS. I've purchased 3 Coach bags this year. The changes over a year ago to FOS and the outlet really slowed me down but probably in a good way because I was buying way too many bags and SLG's because the prices were good. Then I got locked out of FOS for about 6 months and now I'm back in under a new account.

The biggest thing that pulled me away from Coach was Reed Krakoff going out of business and having bags for up to 85% off. RK's are my favorite handbags and I picked up quite a bit during the final months.

I still like Coach, but my rate of buying has declined dramatically. I'm just not as driven or obsessed to obtain bags as I used to be- at times, two or more a month (in the olden days), whereas now I maybe buy one bag every 2 months (this is VERY slow for me).

This year I've purchased an iris saffiano baby bag (which IMO shouldn't count bc it's a necessity bag), iris saffiano borough, gunmetal Rhyder 33, mink Rhyder (the larger size of EW satchel) which I've been wearing nonstop for three months, black mini-studded Edie and ginger/black CB swagger.

I have no purchases planned on the horizon, though as I love my EW Rhyder so, so much (esp. being a first-time mom- it's SO convenient and practical when I'm out and about)... I could be tempted by a jade Rhyder if it was at a good price. Too bad I missed out on those at the SAS!

That said, I did pick up a Chloe bag (Marcie), Mulberry bag (Bayswater) and 3.1 Phillip Lim (mini Pashli) within the past year. So yes, I have been diversifying to other brands.

I think it's cyclical. We all have seasons. I went through a Louis Vuitton season, then I came back to Coach. Now, I feel guilty for buying Marc Jacobs and loving them so much. The last non-vintage Coach I bought was the Chelsea Ashlyn hobo. But, Coach broke my heart when they took away the indestructible glove-tanned leather. I loved those bags and I felt like Coach sold a piece of its soul.

I never buy Coach bag though I had 3 I got as birthday gift over the last few years. I didn't like any of them so I gave away all. But recently I bought Vintage Coach and now I'm looking for another Vintage from Coach! Hehe

I have my eye on a Chloe Marcie as well!

I haven't bought a bag since the last Legacy line was in stores. I've purchased a wallet and a wristlet and that's it. The Vevers designs have missed the mark with me. I can't quite put my finger on why I don't like the bags. I'm very sure that I dislike that so many bags are now pebble leather. Coach is known for glove tanned leather so why make so many pieces in pebble or cross grain? I can't see these textured leathers developing any character with age. Price increases and getting rid of the PCE have also stopped me from buying. With the PCE, you had an excellent of getting the items you wanted at a discount. With the sales, you're not guaranteed that the items you want will make it to sale nor are you sure of the percentage of discount you'll receive. I haven't given up on Coach but I don't see myself buying any of their bags in the forseeable future.

My last Coach purchase was an MFF tote back in February. No deletes at the outlet combined with prices raised to $475 and $575 and I can no longer afford to be a fp shopper with Coach. Sure, I could order online from dept store sales but I'm not that motivated to buy Coach these days. Not being able to see fp bags in person at the outlet makes it harder for me to be interested in buying.
