I realized I have not bought a Coach in over a year - anyone else and why?

No, but that one is pretty!

Heh! Same problem here. :p

It may have been an... Audrey? It was a satchel style, it was of the era when weaving leather through the chain was popular, so that part matches. The color was definitely Peony because I remember looking it up since it was such a gorgeous color. It was a bag I could see Elle Woods wearing. It was *that* pink. Here's a link to a wallet with the same color / leather:

Hm. This gives me an idea for a thread. Anyone else looking for "The One That Got Away?"

Oh, that wallet is a gorgeous color!

I've cut down my purchases of all brands of bags the last year, not so much that I don't see anything I like, just that they're too similar to colors or styles I already have. The last few FOS had a couple of purses I would have bought if they came in the right colors. Really, how many teal-family or black purses do I need? Plus, I don't have the storage space to fit any more bags, so I try to stick to the 1 in, 1 out rule. Also, I'm better now at buying bags that I truly love.

I did quite a bit of buying of all colors during the Kristin, Madison and Legacy lines, so I'm pretty much set until I see a color that I need.

Here's looking at you, forest-green hobo in the Fall '15 line. ;)

ETA: I would buy a Snoopy Surrey satchel in a minute if I found one at an excellent price!

Ditto, it doesn't really bother me. Actually I had never purchased any Coach until the borough, and after Vevers it trickled to a few bags a year, but I'm totally fine with that. Some of their new styles, like the Stanton carryalls that just came out on the website, is interesting-nevertheless, I'll pass because I really dislike crossgrain leather. Seems like they're everywhere these days! I would love to see more leather variety on their products.

Dropped way off too, just bought a small Snoopy satchel in blue. The darned cross hatch and saffiano (sp) leather killed it for me. Won't buy it.

I agree! I hate saffiano, cross hatch and that so called crossgrain leather. I want my leather to look and feel like leather, not plastic.....which is what those leathers look and feel like to me. :yucky:

I've walked away from a lot of bags from several designers because of those leathers.

I am not crazy about the limited selection of Coach over the last year or so, but I just prefer Coach overall. I have yet to see a MK or Kate Spade bag I even reasonably like, so there is not temptation there (I have also checked out the other brands people mention and they just don't appeal to me). So, I buy a bag very occasionally, and am waiting for the right bag from Coach to come along.
Same on MK and Kate Spade. They all seem to look very similar and fast fashion to me. Tory Burch ihas jumped on that same price point as well, been seeing more of her bags carried in that same crowd.

I haven't bought Coach in years, partly because I already have 4 or 5 and didn't want my bag collection too skewed to Coach, and also because I like their Legacy and vintage look most, so that rules out a lot of their recent styles. Plus I already met my one bag a year quota the past three years (Prada, Dooney, and Gucci)

I actually rather liked saffiano leather. I have a Kate Spade saffiano bag and it's been out in the rain (multiple times) and still looks perfect. But really not a fan of the crossgrain leather at all...

I did just recently buy two Coach bags. One is fairly new (turnlock tie bucket bag), the other was a MFF version of a FP bag I had my eye on a year ago.

However nothing else has really caught my eye. I think before there would have been at least a few bags that I liked from each season, but not so much these days. That being said, I'm not sure if it's due to the current design trend, or whether it is because I now have more than enough bags to wear?

I have an MK in Saffiano.. i do think it has it's purpose, admit i did not think this in the past but after owing this leather for a bit i do see it's positives, now i don't think i could do my entire collection in it, but having a bag or two in it? is a good addition imo.

I do have to say I miss the colored linings. It would not make me decide whether or not to buy a bag but it was a nice surprise to see what color lining a bag would come in. Now all is black and blah

I hate black lining. It was disappointing to see that my Snoopy bag had black lining, but I like the fabric with the word "Coach" woven into it. If only it were blue like the bag. I like the color coordinated linings. I think having lining the same color as the bag is classy.

In the past, some of the bag/lining color combinations were odd, and have made me pass up some bags. Like the gray Isabelle with the lime green lining - I know a lot of people loved it, but I hated it. I've seen some Sabrinas that have really weird combinations that when I first saw them I thought they were fake.

It's definitely nice to have "normal" leather bags, but I agree, its great to have a couple of Saffiano bags. My Saffiano bag is my go to bag when it's rainy but I feel like I want to have something a bit more formal looking than my Longchamp Le Pliages/etc...

My recently acquired turnlock tie bucket bag in Navy/Denim (?) has a lining that is the same colour as the bag. I do like the "Coach" fabric - although for some reason the "Coach" words in the lining of my bag face outwards (so when looking from inside it's like seeing "Coach" from the back, almost like a mirror image)...

I hate the black linings too...makes it very hard to see. Whateve, loved the gray Isabelle with the lime green lining.

It IS like looking into a cave. Maybe they should engineer some led lighting for the inside of these bags so we can find our stuff!

I do miss the older, more colorful linings. The blue lining of my green Sophia is so nice. I love the bubblegum pink lining of the tattoo bags. The Snoopy bags really should've had a Snoopy lining. There is/was a line of nice bags in Japan with Snoopy designs and they have beautiful linings with Snoopy graphics.

I have been a loyal Coach girl for twenty years, but I haven't bought anything in some time, even though I live close to an outlet. I loved the Madison line and made sure to get the E/W tote when they went 40% off because it was such a great style. I have very little Coach left now other than a Bleeker Daily and a small Kelsey. I love what I have but have no desire to get anything else. I just feel that the designs don't speak to me.

I only bought one new bag last year too and I've yet to carry it. I wasn't happy to see how fast it made it to the outlet either.

Oh well...sometimes things just are what they are. I'm going to cut the tags and carry it though...I paid for it, right? lol I do like the lines but the black lining will give me fits I'm sure.
