I realized I have not bought a Coach in over a year - anyone else and why?

I was at the outlet the other day and noticed that they are now putting the same logo on outlet and retail bags (they were different before as we all know). I asked an SA why and he said they are trying to elevate the outlet brand and bring them closer to being one brand as opposed to retail vs. outlet.

I think that dilutes the retail bags. Most outlet bags are inferior and charge the same prices. However, your average coach buyer may not know that there is even a difference between retail and outlet bags.

Last year it was all about Coach for me. This year I sold away some of my collection and got into Longchamp. My last Coach bag purchase is a Swagger which feels like a long time ago even if it isn't really. O I got Snoopy items but not any bags so it doesn't count. I've been itching to buy Coach again so I just got a Rhyder crossbody. So it feels like I have been pulled away but I will always come back!

I find this happens with me as well, i'll move out of Coach but then come back, TBH for the most part i am pretty comfortable and satisfied with their bags, the wallets have been my go to for years now as well..

Ditto, it doesn't really bother me. Actually I had never purchased any Coach until the borough, and after Vevers it trickled to a few bags a year, but I'm totally fine with that. Some of their new styles, like the Stanton carryalls that just came out on the website, is interesting-nevertheless, I'll pass because I really dislike crossgrain leather. Seems like they're everywhere these days! I would love to see more leather variety on their products.

I just received my latest eBay Coach purchase which is the black pebbled leather grommet borough bag. It is divine! However when I was recently in New York I went to both a Coach store and a FOS and was utterly disappointed with the choices. I only choose silver tone hardware on my purses (or gunmetal or similar but not gold) and I have found that most of the new ranges lately have been predominantly gold toned hardware. I know that's my choice but it has certainly been a reason why I've not bought so much lately. BTW I cannot bring myself to buy anything but Coach! And the next nicest bag I've seen was DVF.

I went for years without buying a Coach bag, but that's not odd. It seems like with anything else, they will make a lot of things I love all at once, and then change to something else that I'm not into and thus don't buy. I loved a lot of Coach bags from 2004 - 2006, but then they moved to a more simple, minimalist style that I don't love (no offense to those who do... it's just not me) and I was bored.

I've purchased a number of bags recently, almost exclusively due to the Peanuts line (I'm am a huge Snoopy fan). Those bags are ones I would not have purchased if they were just plain, normal bags. The shapes and styles don't scream "buy me!!" to me. But they have a Snoopy on them, so they immediately become more attractive.

Outside of Peanuts, I love the Edie and have one. I also am trying to not love the croc embossed Rhyder in denim leather, but am failing at that and think it will become a permanent fixture. I remind myself that I don't have a pink croc embossed bag that I absolutely adored but didn't buy because I felt I was buying too much at once. Now I can't remember what the name of the bag was, but only that I still adored the look, and know it was Peony croc embossed leather. I'd look for one but don't know what I'm looking for. :shucks:

Haven't bought a Coach bag since March 2014, it was Peyton saffiano satchel( got it from online outlet and it was a love at first sight, still love it). FOS has become a joke. I prefer Cole Haan nowadays, new Coach style doesn't ring the bell at all. Although when I look at older Coach bags I smile... Good old days!

would it be the coach exotic pink madison croc embossed carry-all :Style 14601?

I bought a grey signature crossbody bag to wear to football games last year. Otherwise it has been years since I've bought a Coach bag! I think my last purchase was a black medium Zoe that I got from ebay several years ago.

I have one handbag from coach (my very 1st designer purchase) and a clutch. But honestly I have moved on to other brands and I am sorry to say but I am not a fan of the coach canvas bags, especially the ones that came from the outlet. I am not particularly fond of the large "C" design. My mom has one and buys them as gifts to give at xmas time to relatives.

But I still love my two pieces that I have and use them in my purse rotation.

It's been hard to find Coach bags in canvas or jacquard with large Cs for many years. On Coach.com today in the new arrivals, there is only one signature bag.

It's been a pet peeve of mine that people think that Coach only makes signature items, or even that the majority of their items are signature. Even at the outlet, that isn't true.

My mom finds them at the outlet. I agree that most people think Coach only makes the canvas bags. I get that 'oh I didn't know Coach makes that' all the time when I use my blush colored leather Coach bag.

No, but that one is pretty!

I wish I wouldn't have looked that style number up!! 😈 Lol, it's pretty!

Heh! Same problem here. :p

It may have been an... Audrey? It was a satchel style, it was of the era when weaving leather through the chain was popular, so that part matches. The color was definitely Peony because I remember looking it up since it was such a gorgeous color. It was a bag I could see Elle Woods wearing. It was *that* pink. Here's a link to a wallet with the same color / leather:

Hm. This gives me an idea for a thread. Anyone else looking for "The One That Got Away?"
