Nothing more frustrating than staying home all day to wait for a delivery and finding that they didn't even bring the parcel, just a hang tag that says sorry we missed you, pick up at post office. YOU DIDN'T MISS ME.
Or worse, STEAL the package.
I had a strand of black Tahitian pearls marked as delivered, when no such delivery was made.
After lots of drama, and the lady from Pearl Paradise freaking out, FedEx finally traces them: the guy had driven them to his girlfriend’s house.
New hire. I have a feeling they didn’t keep him after that.
This strand:

And to stay on topic, I can’t wait to see those bags in person. I’m going to have to not look anymore when they are posted, because I ordered too many already.

FedEx is toying with me. Keeps changing the day of the CeeJay bagapalooza arrival.
Now scheduled for tomorrow.
I will be staring out the front window like my dogs.

P.O. has done that to me before. I watched the truck deliver the mail to the box, and inside is one of those slips with the "we tried to deliver the package but we had no access to the delivery location." No, I watched you deliver the mail and you made ZERO attempt to deliver any package (which entails driving the little mail truck in our driveway and *gasp* getting out of the truck and walking to the front steps.)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who obsesses about bag deliveries

I had an incident like that recently. PO notified bag was out for delivery. We have mailbox down the street. I drove down there and the mailman was driving away. I opened my box and nothing. I drove home to see if he had delivered it to the house. Not. Drove back down the street and approached him as he was driving down from another street. Box was on seat next to him. IDK if he would have gone back to the mailbox or just brought it back to the PO undelivered.

The true hunter that you are. Your kitties would be proud.

FedEx is working on the Memorial Day holiday, at least in my town. The 2005 Indigo Blue Chevre with Planet arrived today. I also took advantage of today's one-day 10% off sale and ordered two more of CeeJay's bags, the 2009 Sanguine Red Lambskin and the 2007 Bleu Glacier Chevre. At this point I have enough bags for each day of the week, and I think I'm done.

My plan is to use the Origan, Bleu Glacier and Sanguine Red with my summer wardrobe, and the Indigo, Black, Tomato, and Black Cherry with my winter wardrobe. Where I live winter lasts for about 6 months, and the other seasons are about 2 months each. When the Black Cherry arrived I carried it for a few days, but decided it was too dark for my summer clothes. The Origan is nearly perfect, if I had to make do with just one summer bag. But, the temptation to cherry pick from such a unique collection was too great, so I added the Bleu Glacier and Sanguine for some variety. If, after a year or so, this isn't working out, I will make adjustments as necessary. Thank you all for your knowledge. This is an amazing forum.

Beautiful. Good plan you have worked out. But nah...not gonna work . The Bal bug bit you hard.
Congrats on all the bags you got from CeeJay’s collection. They are all truly amazing.

Thank you. Well, in my defense, my working days are past, and my outings these days consist of taking my Mom to her doctor's appointments, and occasional grocery shopping. The City is absolutely perfect for my needs. In the past, I would have needed a few of the larger bags, but not anymore. The one color I would like to find is a nice medium tan/brown, but the ones left from CeeJay, which are a bit lighter than I'd like, look pretty worn. A testimony to hard use, I suspect.

As @earswithfeet predicted, my Balenciaga plan has failed. Already. Today I received my purchases from CeeJay's pink collection. This I predict will be the last of my Balenciagas. Maybe. I certainly have plenty for the time being.

Here are the 2008 Pale Magenta, a 2005 Calcaire (a redyed bag at too good a price to pass up), and a 2009 Parme Mauve Mini-bag charm. I think the colors here are a bit brighter than the actual colors.

I loaded up the Pale Magenta to carry tomorrow and attached the mini charm. The colors are more accurate here.

And, finally, a group shot of 9 of CeeJay's Cities. By a total fluke, each bag has a different color letter, from A, Z, through R (no X of course) meaning I have all nine seasons represented here from S/S 2005 through S/S 2009.

20230604_193423.jpg

Beginning at the top and moving down (left column are S/S, right column are F/W):

R - S/S 2009 Sanguine Red
S - F/W 2008 Black Cherry
T - S/S 2008 Pale Magenta (someone will have to explain this color to me, I can't find it as such on the color charts)
U - F/W 2007 Tomato Red
V - S/S 2007 Bleu Glacier
W - F/W 2006 Black
Y - S/S 2006 Origan
Z - F/W 2005 Calcaire
A - S/S 2005 Indigo Blue

I'm pleased with the assortment of summer and winter bag colors. I had a huge advantage over most of you in that I began with zero Balenciagas, and thus was starting from scratch with a premier collection available. I hope CeeJay's family knows that I will be using them, enjoying them, and thinking of her each time I pull one out. I continue to find and read her posts. Thank you everyone here on the forum for your knowledge and wise advice. Reading your posts is an ongoing education.

Lovely collection! I believe the 08 magenta is called “pale” as a contrast to the bolder 07.

Thank you. There is also an 08 bubble gum which looks an awful lot like my bag. I was reading about pinks and color fading and wondering if perhaps pale magenta was a nice way of saying that the 08 magenta color had faded.

You’ve got a beautiful Bal rainbow and in Chevre! Enjoy them all! ❤️

I've always thought it was "Pale Magenta" even on the chart. If you search on "2008 Pale Magenta" (use the quotes) posts from back then come up and call it that, so I'm not sure if we switched dimensions or I'm just getting old. Pale Magenta described the color in contrast to the brighter 2005 Magenta and the Limited Edition 2007 too. Then in the Fall 2008 Amethyst happened and it was more similar to the original 2005 Magenta. This particular Magenta a/k/a Pale Magenta bag does have some color fading due to the nature of aniline tanned goatskin. From all those bags you might have a paper card that mentions how the leather will change from light, etc. it's the booklet folded one. Enjoy your lovely BALENCIAGA collection!
