To all who have purchased bags from Ceejay's collection, I am glad that they are going to folks who genuinely appreciate & love Bal bags as much as Claudia did. Thank you to all for your kind comments and remembrances. Please think of her when you wear the bags - she loved her collection and collecting, and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with TPF members. I am still having trouble believing that she is gone - I miss her so very much each and every day. She will be in my heart forever...

Thank you, Paul. My deepest condolences on your loss. Thank you for allowing us to share in her life in this special way. I do think of her each time I use her lovely Bal bags. I'm sure this is only part of her extraordinary legacy. I'm still going through the purse forum and loving it when I find her comments. Clearly she was a wonderful person, and deeply missed.

Hi Paul, I’m so sorry for your loss. Though I’d never met her, Claudia seemed like real boss. I think about her probably every day I’m on here!

Hello, Paul, sending much love your way.
I received the Cornflower Blue City days before going overseas.
The bag is waiting for me at home, and I can’t wait to take it out and carry on Claudia’s passion for these unique bags.
I will post pictures at the end of the month, when I return.
My heart goes out to you, and I hope we can offer a bit of comfort in the knowledge that we appreciate and cherish these bags, because they belonged to her.

So, I purchased another red bag from CeeJay's collection.

DH, who is a mathematician who has been nerding out on color theory lately, came across the two red bags sitting there so pretty next to my desk. He went and ordered a colorimeter so that he could identify their RGB values. I told him I already knew their color identities. The lower one is 2007 Tomato and the upper is 2006 Rouge Vif. Not quite what he is looking for.

He and I both like the blue tones in the Rouge Vif. The digital camera makes it look pinker than what I see in real life. I see orange in the Tomato and he sees a truer red. Either purse will work for a pop of color when wearing, say a black or khaki outfit, but I have so many Hermès scarves with red. Hermès reds often tend towards orange, so I think that Tomato will coordinate better with them.

I'd love to see if CeeJay is correct with her claim that the 2011 Coquelicot is a true red by checking with DH's colorimeter, but this Bal obsession needs to have limits. My guess is that she was likely spot on.

So sorry for your loss Paul. I miss Claudia too and also can't believe she is gone. We never know how long we have but when someone relatively young dies unexpectedly it's a shock and so sad.

Dear Paul, I have a red bowler which Ceejay helped identify the color, and I called her my CeeJay way before the worst happened. I always thought of her when I was using that bag and always will, but now with very heavy heart. My husband new my hobby and how much I loved to check tPF before stressful day. I am an introvert but happen to teach very large classes at my university, and every time I have to get out and start talking, it is a still after 20 years an anxiety until it starts. Right before class I vent that anxiety by worrying if I chose the right color or size of the new bag and he knew about my correspondences which calmed me always and about CeeJay. He was shaken just like me by the news, especially because it came at the time when we lost each a parent overseas and could not even travel for funerals…. so long after we were talking about the people that were here and how come they can just not be here any more….I share the grief with you
