If I had to put money on it, I'd bet that I get the ring my jeweler found that's super close to the Paris ring and have the designer custom make it for my finger size and change the head a bit to accommodate my stone.
I'm smitten by the design of it/the Paris design and it seems that the one my jeweler found may be the perfect solution to the delicate pave.
There's milgraining that sticks out just a hair more than the pave so my rings would never rub it. Plus then I have my local jeweler for any issues that may come up.

That's the Paris ring. My jeweler is asking the designer of the other one to custom make the ring and send it w/o the head on it. He'll add the head w/ the curved pave prongs, claws and pave'd basket.

Is that clear as mud? :p

Picture that last pic I posted w/ the Paris head on it.

Yes.....I realized that's the Paris ring.

The cathedral part of the shank/band needs to curve a bit more too.

I completely follow your train of thought & think this will work.

Don't kill me......but I'm not a fan of milgrain......:sad: I think you'd be better off with the Paris & a micro-thin plat band to protect your ring from the stackers

I die! Gorgeous! I usually only like halos but this is just stunning! I haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread yet, but have you picked on a setting yet?

never mind, I read through the thread, some of the terminology is still beyond me and I can't really picture the custom that you are planning (I'm very slow LOL) but either way I'm sure it'll be stunning. Can't wait to see the finish product! The Michael B ring is nice too but my heart just sings for the LM setting. So a mixture between the two has gotta be pure <3.

Frankie only had issues with that one melee being dark and then the size being not right.

Honestly I would not do this. I would have the designer do the whole thing. You don't want different melee quality and different metals.

Thanks! Haven't heard back from my jeweler on a quote/work up yet.
I was thinking I'd just go for the Paris setting but I like having custom pieces made to cut out the middle man if/when repairs are needed. :thinkin:

I just don't have a real local jeweler that carries it.
If I did have an issue, it would be sort of a headache to get it fixed :-s

Thinking of having a meeting w/ Leon again . . . :thinkin:
