I hate snooty SAs, think they are all that.

I hate when the SA's of any store act like that. It doesn't matter how high-end the store they're working at in, the fact of the matter still is that they're working in retail and you were the customer that had the money to pay for the bags in thier store.

They do have secret shoppers in retail, but it depends on whether someone is mentioned in their report or not for management to take action. When I worked at a high-end department store, the same silly and unethical sales associate won the $500 store gift certificate TWICE for being the most favorably mentioned. He followed people around, he was aggressive in pursuing that commission, and like I said, he was unethical, but there he was with all the extra dough to spend.

I think the worse expericence I had was iN Beverly Hill Barneys. They are so uppity. I know I looked all FOB and I didn't want to dress up but I had the money and I could pay. Anyways my girlfriend and I had jump in front of a sales person to get some help. Then I had to practically run out naked to get a diffrerent size. I the hotel business they have a company that checks up on the service level. They should do the same in retail. Imagine how much $$$ they lose with a bad SA

I'm pretty much over it now since all of you guys have been so supportive. I don't think I'm ever going back to that store. If I do get another b bag. I'm going to their other store in Burlingame. Same store, in a even more uppity city but 100 times more relaxed enviornment.

I totally agree with Ilovecoach, the best shopping is done in comfortable clothes, wearing heels and slacks gets me tired just after one store. for example if you go to every floor in Neimans. and add walking on the pavement across union square.(for those of you who shop in S.F) know what I'm talkin about. I rather wear my uggs. heheh

Kylie,
I'd love it if you would take this entire transcript (remove pictures and identifying factors of course) and mail it to the manager. With a note like: This is from a website of women who talk about and buy designer bags everyday. I know we are all fed up with this SA behavior! I even saw another thread started on it this last night.

Yes!!! I was in there (BH store) this morning to look at Balenciaga's. I wandered around the floor handling the bags and three SA's just stood at the counter talking amongst themselves, even though I was looking over at them and made eye contact several times. Finally I had to walk over and ask for help. The one who answered my questions was rather cold and unfriendly. Then, a few minutes later I was looking at the Chloé's and asked if they'd be getting the Edith in and they looked at me like I was covered in poo and one said in a very haughty voice "no, we are not getting the Edith."

After that I went over to NM to browse the bags, and several SA's looked at me and smiled and said hello. Two asked if I needed any assistance. They were much nicer over there!!! I'd love to get a Balenciaga in a few months, but sure don't want to buy from Barney's now. Maybe I'll order from the NY Balenciaga boutique when the time comes. Wish they'd open one in SCP!!!

   I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh at the covered in poo statement. Sounds like she was the one who was covered in poo and needed to get the stick out of her you know what :suspiciou

My worse experience was @ the King of Prussia Mall in PA, in the LV store....I purchased one bag from them(several yrs ago)and promised myself and the SA it would be my last! The man was sooo rude, not only to me but it seemed to everyone. If any of you have been there, you probably know who I mean....Thank god for Elux!

Pseub,
What did the three SAs look like (or what were their names, if you know them)?
I've been to that dept numerous times, and it can be quite daunting... I wanted to see if you and I got bad service from the same SA.

One was a tall asian-looking guy with a hairstyle that requires lots of "product", a tall blonde woman who looked like a model, and another young African-American woman, with hair pulled back, probably in her 20's. It was the guy primarily who kept giving me the stink-eye. Granted, I wasn't dressed up (jeans, t-shirt, cashmere hoodie) but I was carrying a Marc Jacobs bag, for Maude's sake!

Shame on the Susans SA! By any chance was the SA you encountered older or younger? I had a good experience with the younger SA that works there. She put up with all of my questions when I placed an order for a b-bag and was super friendly. Even tried to sell me on some Marni clothes. When I went there to pick up my bag, I did feel intimidated that you had to be buzzed in. There was an older lady behind the counter who I did not deal with who was constantly eyeing me "like aren't you a little young to be in here buying a $1K+ bag?". I'm in my mid-twenties. But of course she had not step outside her bounds because I did end up buying a bag from them.

I totaly dislike SAs like that. I've had my fair share of encounters like that at other establishments. Tsk tsk for them! :suspiciou

oh I definately know! I went to the LV at King of Prussia and a girl who was maybe 3 years older than me was helping ( barely helping) she was so damn rude and tried to look as if she owned the place.

Yeah, unfortunately I do know the African American girl, she's can be realllly nice if she thinks you will buy something, but don't ever mention to her that you've worked with another SA, she'll give you the worst service ever. The Asian guy must be new, I haven't seen him before. The blonde's name is Sunshine and I would say she is the best out of them, as she's not too pushy...
I've heard that John is also really nice.
